Pokémon: Shining Sun

Chapter 5

We spent the next few hours exploring Akala island. We decided to visit the Ruins of Life for nostalgia's sake.

When we got to the entrance, Lillie laughed.

"This is where you fought Olivia right?" She asked.

"Yeah. It was."

"I was surprised you won so easily at the time. Looking back on it, I feel kinda dumb."

"Because I was using a grass type against rock types?"

"Yeah. Exactly."

"Well I mean, it still wasn't the easiest battle ever. Type advantage isn't everything. Dartrix was the only Pokémon with a type advantage I had.

"You had a Magikarp ."

"Oh come on, what was I going to do with a Magikarp against a Lycanroc?"

One of my poke balls started to shake a little.

I snickered. "Sorry, Gyarados. I didn't mean to offend you." Gyarados calmed down and stopped shaking his poke ball.

"I guess you have a point. But I mean-"

Lillie was cut of by a sudden noise. It was definitely a Pokémon, but it sounded unique. A blur of pink zipped down from the sky and landed between us.

I laughed. "Are you that excited to see me?"

Tapu Lele rushed forward and hugged me. Well, tried, considering the tiki head she rides in. I had grown quite the bond with all the Tapus. In fact, although I had released him to freely guard Melemele, Tapu Koko still came to me whenever I needed him, and would check on me from time to time to make sure I was ok.

Tapu Lele wore a happy expression. Whenever I came near the Ruins of Life or anywhere around Akala, she would sometimes show up to say hi.

"I feel weird just standing here while the island guardian greets you excitedly."

At the new voice, Tapu Lele spun around to face Lillie. Her eyes lit up as soon and Lillie came into view. She zipped over, making Lillie jump, and started to scan over her.

"Uh..." Lillie looked at me questioningly.

I held up a finger. "Wait a second..."

I had never seen the Tapus do this, but I had my suspicions of what Tapu Lele was pondering. Eventually, she gave a slight nod, as if satisfied and zipped in and out of the ruins with a stone in her hand.

Tapu Lele extended the stone out to Lillie. Lillie took it and looked over it. She flipped it over to reveal a sparkling Z.

I grinned. "And that's what you would call a sparkling stone."

"Seriously?" Lillie looked back at me with wide eyes. I nodded. She looked back to Tapu Lele.

"Thank you so much!" She exclaimed.

Tapu Lele made a noise as if to say you're welcome! Before she could zip of into her Ruins, the sound of a Pokémon roar went through the air. We all looked over to the water to see a school form Wishiwashi very unhappy at us.

I shrugeed and reached for Decidueye before Tapu Lele jumped in front of me, indicating she wanted to battle with me. I dropped me hand.

"Ok then, how bout we show Lillie what kinds of things you can do?"

Tapu Lele nodded excitedly and turned to face the Wishiwashi. I crossed my arms, starting a z move, and performing the fairy stance. Z power rushed into Tapu Lele.
