Princess Sigyn is rushed in by the healers in their tower and she is seated on a table. A slab of marble with small devices at the four corners. They stripped her of her leather and clothes and demanded the Prince Loki and Prince Vali leave the chamber once assessing they were unharmed.
They cut away the fine leather and pulled the gloves from her arms. Her skin so delicate and soft and unblemished. She has not seen the battlefield for a long time.
"Oh my." says Eir, in her flat voice. She is a women who aged like fine cask ale. No one knows how truely old she is. Hair to her lower back and ethereal elegance to her slim stature. She moved like the water. Every motion swift and honourable. Her skin is wrinkled with the stories of time and her deep eyes have hidden tales. "You have taken quite a hit, Princess." she procured, raising a thin brow. "What manner of creature did this?" she is a tall and thin woman.
It is said Eir herself was once a Valkyrie. Or a healer to them on the battlefield until they were all killed in a battle to save Asgard. So the rumours surmise she cannot be one, because they are all dead. She has been a handmaiden to Queen Frigga since time could tell.
She is the same healer who delivered both of Princess Sigyn's sons.
"I was distracted." replied Sigyn. "I was struck by a Jotun."
"Unlike you to be distracted..." Eir lifted her eyes. "So the gossip is true." she said, looking to her assistants. They looked away. "Is it also true Thor Odinson is banished?"
"Yes." Sigyn sounded confused. This just happened, how do they know already? So she asked them.
"Word spreads quickly when the the son of Odin is cast out of the realm of gods."
They looked at each other again. Eir gently scraps her fingers over the black ice scorching Princess Sigyn's skin. "This is not so easily fixed. The Jotnar are creatures of winter and ice itself. Born of snow. Cold and bitter. They are so cold to the touch, the result is thus." Eir stood straight. "If you would lay back, Princess." she instructed.
Sigyn moved herself back with a grimace and laid on the cold marble. The assistants moved into place and from the four corners of the table Sigyn's image appeared above her in gold seidr. It measured her steady heart rate. Showed all her organs, nervous system, and skeletal structure.
Many runes danced above her and numbers flashed across in glittering gold magic.
"There are no broken bones or eternal bleeding. Just bruising, Princess." informed Eir, moving her fingers and the gold seidr danced with her command as she flickered through the x-ray of the Princess Sigyn's body searching for further injuries.
"That is good news, then." said the Princess.
"Indeed." Eir closed off the table, and Princess Sigyn is able to sit up again. The others brought a robe to cover the Princess and fixed it over her shoulders. "Healing Rocks will fix the black ice. It will take time to heal again. Apply the crushed rocks over a towel and apply directly to the area. It should be faded in a few days time. Plenty of rest and water, Princess. And no sudden movements or over exerting yourself." she instructed. "I will check on your progress."
"Of course, Eir. You have my thanks."
"All mine, Princess." Eir placed a hand over her chest and softly smiled. "If you have any further grievances, do not hesitate to call me. I will come to your chambers."
A voice cleared their throat and their attention is turned to the doorway. Prince Loki nervously stands at the large golden doors. "Is she alright?" he asked, picking his palm. A nervous gesture he does.
