To be honest I wasn't very surprised to wake up tied to a support column of level three of a parking garage. In fact, when I regained consciousness and saw the oh too familiar paint I couldn't help but smile, just as I predicted.
Except I didn't see my cousin. What I did see was a group of hooded figures quietly talking at the other side of the lot.
Using the forced I lowered my gag and yelled over to them, "You have me and the journals now where's my cousin?"
The one closest to me answered, "Don't worry she's here."
"You better not hurt her!"
They laugh, "It's not her you need to worry about, the boss is coming, you should be more worried about that."
"Oh, I can't wait to meet your boss." I reach out with the force searching for my cousin, she feels close but it was hard to tell with all of the dark energy surrounding me. "Where is she?" I ask again getting ready to attack if need be.
"She's right here," someone says cooly from behind me.
"Boss," one of my kidnappers acknowledged.
I turn around to see the person behind all of the robot attacks. Just as I figured they were a Sith Lord. With the typical dark robes and a hood concealing their identity. Their arms where crossed and I could see the glint of the hilt of a lightsaber concealed under their left elbow.
"Where? I don't see her," I quickly glance around in case I was missing something, my heart was pounding, something isn't right.
"Oh I'm right here, just like I've always been," the Sith says and lifts their hood, "Amber, how's the new life as an Avenger going?" Sphene asked me with a chilling smile.
"Sphene?" I choked, "You're the Sith Lord?"
She rolled her eyes, "You know I was very surprised to figure out you were the Jedi tearing up my bots. I never thought you'd be the violent type. But I guess it makes sense, who else would have the force besides us? The descendants of the great Jedi master Toto Go?" She said scornfully.
"How did you figure out it was me?"
She smiled wryly, "You left this behind," she untangled her arms and held up in one hand your lightsaber. "Don't even try to summon it over, if you do the bombs I've placed on Avengers tower will go off. Its just a precaution that you cooperate and they don't come to save you."
You could tell she wasn't bluffing.
"Imagine my surprise when after the S.H.I.E.L.D agents came bursting in and you pushed me out, I come back only to find the place a mess and a lightsaber lying abandoned on the floor. It didn't take a genius to connect the dots." She smiled sadly, "So I ordered whirlwind to tear up the city for a while as a distraction. Once I was sure you were busy I went over to your house to retrieve Toto's journals. Originally I had searched for them in the study a while ago with no avail, but once I knew you had the force I figured you would keep them with you. I was right, but I only had time to take one before you mom came home and I had to leave before she caught me and asked questions. And then on my way back, I passed you on the highway heading home, so I knew you would get the rest."
I look at the person I used to look up to needed to understand, "Why? why did you go to the Dark Side?"
"Growing up I learned a lot of things, one being that being powerful is better than being weak, and what's more powerful than technology from another galaxy far more complex and superior to ours?" She looks me in the eyes, "You wouldn't understand, what it's like to grow up with the force in a city full of so many people and not having anyone to talk to about it. I didn't tell my parents because I don't want them to make a big deal about it, I just wanted to be treated normally. I didn't fit in at school, I was the weird kid that could tell everyones hidden emotions easier than I could solve a math problem. For I while I tried to fit in." She smiles broader and continues, "Then New York was attacked by aliens and I realize that these aliens were primitive compared to the ones of our heritage. Finally I no longer wanted to be normal, I realized I was destined to be so much more."
"Sphene, I may not have lived amongst as many people as you, but I still know what its like. I know how it is to wake up the middle of the night and still hear screams of another galaxy."
"Exactly Amber, I learned that you can either let the visions take over you, or you can embrace the darkness and let it fuel you. I used to hear the screams of fallen Jedi for hours after I woke up, until I accepted that part of me, and used it to my advantage."
I shake my head at her, "I'd rather dream of the destruction of the Jedi temple than join the Dark Side."
"I know, that's why I had to use more convincing methods to get you here."
"Why do you even need me?"
"Because you've studied Toto's journals and you are going to build me an army."
"And if I say no?"
"Kaboom, and it would be a shame, Avengers tower is such a nice work of architecture."
Hi, I just wanted to tell you all that I'm not going to be able to go on Wattpad for the next six weeks. Once I'm back on i'll try to update as soon as I can.
