It don't mean shit if you ain't happy, though
Happiness is all that matters, I hope you know
I fucking love airports. They're pretty much the only public place where you can eat chow mein at six am and sleep whenever you want without being judged. Luckily, I wasn't too bothered there, thanks to my bodyguards and Austin. I admit the crowds get overwhelming sometimes, especially the paparazzi, which I despise. I pretty much hate the whole media in LA because there's always so much fabricated stories and fake news.
Austin and I were waiting for our flight. He picked up my phone and turned it on to see what song I was listening to. "Lil xan... really?"
I snatched my phone away from him him.
"Shut up! He isn't that bad," I said.
Austin raised his eyebrows.
"Ok. I admit it, he low key sucks, but it's catchy."
"Sorry, but I really can't stand that guy. No talent whatsoever," Austin said. "But I guess not everyone can be as good as us."
I playfully punched Austin. "You're probably just jealous because he's cuter than you."
"Yeah because having 20 face tattoos is so hot," Austin joked.
Finally, our flight was called.
"We really should have gotten a private jet," I complained while getting into my seat.
"Yeah, if you want to pay for that," Austin said.
"Umm.. I'd just like to point out you definitely have more money than me," I said.
"Not for long," he said. "You do realize things are gonna get crazy soon."
"I know. God, I just hope I'm prepared for it. I guess... I don't want fame to change me."
"Hey, I'm here for you, man. Just stay true to yourself. That's all your fans really want," Austin said.
I sighed. This was all I really wanted, but my anxiety and depression didn't go away right as I left high school. Stuff like that sticks with you, and I don't want my fame to add even more stress. I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt my phone buzz. It was my boyfriend, Jack. It's hard to do long distance, but I really love him and had since freshmen year. I remember we met when I used him just to get acid, which I've stopped doing since leaving school, and things went on from there. We were just two kids in love, and I try to talk to him at least once a day, but I can't stop but thinking what I'll future will be. I really can't imagine it with him.
I slept through most of the flight, and the plane landed around 2 pm. Austin and I didn't feel like braving the public doors and just took the back exit to our van once we got to the airport. For once, Palm Springs traffic seemed nice. It was good to be back to my apartment. It was the closest thing to home I had to home right now. I contacted Omar and he said we could meet up tomorrow at his hotel. Austin and I decided we should just stay there for the week, since a lot of his friends were at the same hotel. I thought it could be fun; plus, my apartment is about two hours away from LA. Until then, I finally had time to relax.
