Just wanted to say that whatever competitions/tournaments I've added are fictitious and any similarities to actual events are pure coincidental. Thanks!
Zach
The game just ended and Kayla's team completely trashed the twins'! It was like after Kayla's first home run, it unleashed the beast! It was epic and amusing to see how frustrated Morgan got.
"You were awesome Kayla!" Sam said as she walked towards us.
"Yeah! It's about time someone showed Morgan what's up!" Trey said excitedly.
"Thanks guys, but it was nothing." Kayla says a bit shyly.
"That was amazing Kayla. You were amazing." I say honestly.
Kayla just looks up at me and smiles. We smile at each other for awhile til a loud voice makes us look away.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT KAYLA!?" Morgan marches over a little pissed off.
"What?" Kayla says innocently
"Don't 'what' me! You said you played little league! That was NOT little league."
"You're the one that didn't let me finish." Kayla smirks at Morgan then looks over at me and winks.
"But it was just a little league..." Shay says more confused than angry.
I burst out laughing and everyone turns to stare at me except Morgan, who is glaring at me like I'm insane.
I managed to get it together before speaking."Guys. I'd like you to meet the National Little League Baseball Champion 3 years in a row, State Softball Champ 4 years in a row, National Minor League Softball Champ 3 years in a row and MVP all 3 years." I say proudly.
All of them, except Kayla, just stare at me in shock. Kayla's looking at the ground, but I can see a slight tinge of pink on her cheeks which makes me grin wider. Morgan breaks the silence as she turns to Kayla.
"Dude! What the hell!?"
Kayla looks up at Morgan and just shrugs.
"You didn't let me finish."
"Nice job sis! We could've been undefeated!" Shay says as she smacks the back of Morgan's head.
"How was I supposed to know that she was a softball goddess!?"
"That'll teach you to let people finish talking before deciding if they're good enough or not." I say accusingly.
"I'll say. Geez." Morgan then turns to Kayla
"I'm, um, sorry Kayla. For judging you before I knew anything about you." Morgan says sorta guiltily.
"Yeah, me too. I'm really sorry." Shay adds.
"That's okay guys! It's not a big deal!" Kayla says as she smiles warmly at the twins.
"Okay. Cool. Do you maybe wanna grab some food with us?" Morgan asks still unsure.
"Sure, why not?"
"Awesome! Alright, let's go losers and goddess Kayla." Morgan winks at Kayla, clearly over the whole thing.

They decided on a cafe called 'The Stern', presumably it was called that because it overlooks the back of the boat.
They sat near the railing of the boat to get a good view of the water around them and feel the fresh breeze. They had already eaten their ordered food and were now enjoying their drinks with their conversation.
Their current topic was of Kayla's amazing softball career.
"So you were playing for so long and were doing so well, why'd you stop?" Sam asked
"I'm not really sure. I guess I just got busy with other things and I figured that it wasn't really 'cool'. " Kayla says in a sad kind of way.
"Screw being cool. We think you're awesome just the way you are!" Morgan exclaims.
Kayla chuckles a little and grins.
"Thanks Morgan.""So, wait how'd you know about all her achievements then?" Shay asks turning to Zach, soon all eyes were on him.
"Um, well we were in little league together, so when she won, I won?And you guys know how much my moms love softball, so naturally they went to every game in the area and any major tournament final out of state. That included Kayla's games and national tournaments."
"I remember those. We used to hang out after all my games in-state." Kayla says softly looking at me.
"Yeah. Once you stopped playing, that's kind of when I met Trey." Zach says without looking at Kayla.
"Wait, that's how you guys met?? At a softball game?" Morgan asks pointing back and forth between Trey and Zach.
Soon another conversation took over, but Kayla was still thinking of their last.
What if.
What if I didn't quit.
