Chapter 19: NOT worried. No. Seriously. Maybe?

Kayla was hanging out with Margaret again and the older woman was asking her about Zach.

"So, you didn't ask him out? Because?"

"There was this girl that came in after practice and well, I figured I shouldn't try."

Margaret reaches over and smacks Kayla's shoulder lightly.

"You stubborn girl! You fight that girl! You hear me? If you want something, you fight for it. Take down whoever gets in the way!" Margaret says while pumping her fist in the air in a "charge" action.

"Woahhhh. Down girl. Down. Ask me what happened next." Kayla says while lowering Margaret's fist.

"Okay. What happened next?"

"I went back to my room and had a shower. Then there was a knock on the door."

"Was it him? It was wasn't it? He's got more balls than I thought!" Margaret says with a smug smile and slightly impressed look.

"It wasn't him Mar. It was Rick."

"Oh. Who's Rick?" Margaret's smug smile drops and is replaced by confusion.

"My ex." Kayla says simply.

"What was that boy doing at your door??" Margaret says getting a little worked up.

"Relax Mar. He came to apologize."

"As he should've like the day he cheated on you!"

"But that's not the best part. Ask me what happened after he left."

"Okay, I'll bite. What happened after he left?"

"Zach asked me out." Kayla says with a slight blush.

"I knew it! I knew that boy had balls!" Margaret exclaims loudly, almost jumping out of her wheelchair.

"Mar! Shhh!" Kayla says half giggling.

"So when is he taking you out?" Margaret asks curiously.

"Um, he already did. Last night."

"What!? How did he manage to pull that off?" Margaret says, once again impressed by Zach.

"He had help from his moms." Kayla shrugs.

"A Mamas boy huh? Well now I definitely want to meet him. How was it anyway?"

"It was good. Really good. The best first date I've ever been on." Kayla says with a dreamy look.

"That's good. That's great. So what about the "other girl", what are you going to do about it? He didn't exactly say he wanted to be exclusive, did he?"

"I guess he didn't. I really don't know. Maybe I should just ask him."

"I personally would not, but you do what you think is right."

A few hours later, Kayla was walking back to her room still thinking about what Margaret say.

Should I ask him about Maya?
Or should I just leave it?
What if he is seeing the both of us?
What would I do?
Hmmmm.

She reaches her door and is about to push it open when she hears someone calling her name. She turns to look at the source and instantly notices that it's Zach, running down the corridor to catch her. So she waits.

He reaches her and stops to catch his breath a little.
"H-hey Kayla." He says looking down at her with a smile.

"Hey Zach." She answers back with a smile.
