Chapter 54 – In Which Suho Causes A Fair Amount of Second-Hand Embarrassment
Deer Luhan,
Screw what everybody else said, but that afternoon at the Great Wall with Suho and Sehun was definitely worth it and probably the freest I felt in China, not to mention great fun. Suho paid for everything and it was almost like a family outing. Got some great photos there, too. (Sehun actually smiled when he wasn’t busy glaring at Suho for talking too much.)

Suho was talkative. Very talkative. He was an even more talkative person than Abbie. I’d faced the Kaiquisition and the inKrisition (ironically, both largely to do with the fact that I was pretending to be Luhan and they wanted to know what my relationship with Sehun was), but both of those were poor preparation for the onslaught of questions from EXO’s leader. By the time we got out to the Great Wall, I was pretty sure he knew more about me than my own parents did. Even Sehun seemed to be finding it awkward.
“Hyung!” he protested as we left the bus, Suho still animatedly slinging questions at me as he dragged me through the carpark. “Ease up, will you?”
Suho threw him a blank look. “I want to get to know the person behind you lot being so secluded and shutting me out recently. Anything wrong with that?”
Sehun subsided, grumbling, and reached for my free hand when Suho wasn’t looking.
“Besides,” said Suho, tucking his other hand into his coat pocket, “you’re by far the worst offender out of everybody because you were the one who knew for the longest. I feel kind of betrayed, you know.”
I noticed Sehun’s tongue poking out of the corner of his mouth, his teeth biting delicately down on its tip, before the maknae turned away, looking abashed. Suho promptly forgot about him and turned his attention back to me.
“Now that they’re not around to force you to answer otherwise, have they been treating you well?” he demanded. “Because they’d better have been.”
“Hyung!” Sehun protested again. Suho shushed him.
“Yeah,” I said with a shrug. “One or two of them didn’t initially react too well to me not being Luhan, but everybody’s been really sweet.”
“Didn’t initially react well?” Sehun scoffed. “Baekhyun and Tao both thought you were a crazy stalker fangirl and Xiumin threatened you with a knife!”
I rolled my eyes. “Sehun, we’ve been ove—”
“Wait, Xiumin pulled a knife on you?” Suho demanded.
I winced. “Yeah, he thought I might be a crazy stalking fangirl too. And Tao actually thought that Luhan had been a girl from the beginning rather than a stalking fan—”
Suho let out a bark of laughter.
“Kai thought I’d magically sprouted breasts,” I remembered. “That one was awkward.”
A reluctant chuckle escaped Sehun as he thought back to it as well, and I staggered sideways as he put our entwined hands in his pocket to keep them warm.
“So what happened with that one?” Suho asked.
“He was trying to teach me how to dance and I tripped.”
“He caught her like this, hyung.” Sehun forgot about pocketed hands and stepped behind me to demonstrate. I honestly thought Suho was going to have a heart attack at his horrified expression, and it was so funny I forgot all about where Sehun’s hands were and about the fact that I was pressed up against his chest because I was trying so hard not to choke with laughter.
