Chapter 61 – In Which Sleeping Arrangements Become Needlessly Complicated
Deer Luhan,
I’m actually starting to think the others planned this.
Leigh
We only had forty-five minutes at the hotel before the boys had to head out for recording, and it wasn’t a lot of time for a council of war. There had first of all been the time it took to check in and get to the rooms (which were on the top floor and based around a large suite). Then there had been convincing the manager to leave us alone and go and relax. Then there had been the discovery that there were fans in the hotel with us when we were trying to sneak Luhan in through the back door.
And worst of all was the discovery that the hotel was fully booked.
“So what this amounts to,” said Kris, perching on a coffee table in the small livingroom area that four bedrooms in the suite opened onto, “is we can’t get Leigh a separate room. Anywhere.”
“We’d need it on the same floor as us, anyway,” Suho agreed from where he was sitting crosslegged on the floor. “There are too many fans around for it to be a good idea for one of them to bump into ‘Luhan’ when he supposed to be elsewhere, or staying with the rest of us. Or for the manager or the press to bump into her, for that matter.”
“Unless she dressed up as a girl,” said Chen.
“Then she wouldn’t be able to come near us without all hell breaking loose,” Kai pointed out.
“Chen,” said Xiumin, glancing up briefly from the Dora the Explorers he was doodling on Luhan’s cheek with a sharpie, “how can you dress up as a girl when you already are a girl?”
Chanyeol deigned to look up from his piece of plastic. “We can always double up in a couple of rooms and leave Leigh one to herself.” There was a loud crack as the plastic snapped under his ministrations. “Oh, sh*t.”
“You’re not sleeping two to a bed in single beds for an entire week,” Suho objected. “It’s not practical. And besides, it’s too risky, not just in case the manager notices something’s fishy, but also in case the hotel staff notice we have an extra person. What we need is some way of—”
“Hey, guys.” D.O. finally emerged out of the double doors into the biggest room to join the discussion. “Have you seen the master bedroom? It has a freaking gigantic double bed.”
Lay raised his hand. “Totally shotgun that for Sehun and Leigh. Isn’t this place sometimes used as a honeymoon suite?”
Sehun looked like he wanted to strangle Lay just as much as I did.
“Er, no,” said Suho flatly.
“But we still need to figure out an extra bed or something,” D.O. finished as though there had been no interruption. “And since all the other rooms are twins, I was thinking we could ‘complain’ that we’re uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed in the master bedroom and ask if they can set up a camp bed or something. It’s the master suite – they’re not going to be moving that double bed anywhere. Two of us can share the bed and Leigh can have the camper. It’s not ideal, but it’s better than nothing.”
“I’ll share with somebody,” Luhan volunteered at once, but Kris shook his head.
“Too risky. You and Leigh should really avoid being in the same room where possible on the off chance the manager or a member of staff walks in. If you’re in different rooms, one of you can at least pretend you moved rooms quickly or something. There are balconies connecting the windows.”
