I followed Alice down the empty hallway as my brain replayed her words. Queen. Of course Elijah had a queen. Pure jealousy and betrayal swam around in my stomach- although I knew he didn't love me when he killed and raped me, some part of me wanting to cling onto my humanity. To cling on to hope. To hang onto him.
We arrived at a pair of golden doors with diamonds covering the edges and Alice pushed them open, leaving me to the beast inside. It was dark and smelled of death, something I was still not used to. I sat in silence for a few minutes before hearing heels tap the ground behind me."You must be Amelia", a soft voice said behind me. I whipped around and faced the most gorgeous woman I'd ever saw. Blonde, like me, she stood tall.
"Why am I here"? I asked. I already knew who she was and didn't care to hear her confirm it.
The unknown woman stared at me, sizing me up. I felt her drag her eyes over every part of my body. If there was a God to thank, I would have thanked him for having clothes on to shield me from her glare.
"I am Elijah's wife. I meet all of his whores", she hissed. I felt bile rise in my throat. Wife, whores, it was all too much. Reality tumbled down on me once again.
"I am not a whore and I wish to leave this hell", I strongly commanded.
"Then why did you come here, child"? She mocked. Courage built up inside of me.
"I wanted answers from Eli that I clearly will not receive. If I cannot get answers then I wish to leave and end this hell. I am not made for this time" I steadily told her. The woman flashed infront of me, her hands on my throat.
"Well that's too bad, someone decided to wake you up and play games with Elijah so you are staying here until we figure it out you pathetic bitch", she spat as she flung me across the room. As I picked myself back up I made eye contact with her again only to see one emotion in her eyes: jealousy. It burned deep and hot inside of her. I started to ask why- why would she be jealous of me but she quickly turned and exited the room.
