The sun had just began to rise when I found my way into a town. I hurriedly ran into a hotel and approached the front desk.

"Hello", I greeted the worker. The man was about 50 and held an unamused look. His eyes lingered on my face for longer than I would have liked.

"How many nights?" Is all he replied. I licked my lips and quietly whispered one. I did not want to stay in one place too long. I pulled out some cash that I had taken from Ophelia a few months before. The mans wondering eye took in my outfit and I prayed to whatever God there was left that he did not try anything on me for I did not know what I was capable of yet as a supernatural being.

My room smelled like a farm and the bed looked tattered and warn. An uneasy feeling twirled around in my stomach as I locked the door behind me.

"What now"? I thought out loud. I had limited cash, no map, and no where to go. I'm sure by now the palace realized I was missing and that vile man would rip apart every corner of the earth to find me. I shivered at the though. I took another sip of my blood bag and decided to lay down and let the sun pass. Sleep never came.

When the darkness had once taken over the world once again  I packed my things up and left through the hotel window. I did not want to chance going to the lobby and having people see me. The night was cold but the more distance I put between myself and that palace the better I felt. I was 48 hours into my journey before I felt the odd sensation of being watched. I glanced around my surroundings anxiously and tried to calm my nerves with more blood. I was sure I was just being paranoid.

I crossed the country border and ran until the sun stopped me yet again. This time I stayed in an abandoned house- too paranoid to be in public if I didn't have to be.

I felt tired for the first time in weeks. The emotional turmoil ate at me. I laid down on the old bed after locking myself in a room and finally my eyes closed. I was peaceful.

Hours must have went by before I woke. It was again dark outside and I knew from the second I woke up that I had made a mistake. I could feel someone in the house with me. I could smell them almost. I picked up a piece of wood and pushed my back against the wall. Foot steps echoed through the small enclosing before the door creaked open.

I saw black combat boots first. My eyes made their way up defined legs and over broad shoulders before the wood fell out of my hands and banged against the floor. Blue eyes. Dark hair.

Elijah.
