Moonlight leaked into my window on the 3rd night of February. I knew from the frost building up on the glass that it was freezing outside. The ball ended weeks ago and yet it's all I thought about as each day passed.

I did not know what to think or how to act. My mind raced constantly with thoughts of Elijah- and whoever the man inside the castle is. I wanted to confide in Ophelia but I just didn't know who to trust anymore. She noticed me becoming more and more distant and stopped coming by as much.

My palms began to sweat as I got changed into a dark sweater and a warm pair of sweat pants. I put my long blonde hair in a pony tail and dressed my feet in the warmest shoes I could find. If I had a heart I was sure it would be beating out of my chest. I was planning something tonight- something dangerous.

I had to escape from this hell. I could not bare to be here for another day. I was constantly paranoid and anxious. I did not know where to go, but anywhere would be better than here. I purposely laid low for weeks and the guards eventually stopped watching me. I stole blood bags from the kitchen every chance I got and now here I Stood- dressed, packed, and scared.

I took a deep breath and glanced at the room as I opened the window. Strands of my hair blew with the wind and I mentally said goodbye to the nicest place I've ever lived. My room was draped in high class materials and jewels but yet the evil that lurked inside could not be hidden.

My boots crunches under the snow when I landed the three story drop. I instantly took off running- my path mapped out in my head. The wind felt bitter against my face and my eyes looked in every direction to make sure I wouldn't get caught.

The castle was surrounded by an electric fence but I knew that if I wanted to escape I would have to go over it. I ran with all my might- putting every bit of anger I felt from the last few months into each stride. When I was 2 meters away from the wall I used all my strength to jump.

Burning is all that I felt. I landed on top of the fence and heat shook my body. I made myself roll off the other way. When I landed on the ground I couldn't move- my body had gone into shock. I laid on the snow and counted the stars for hours.

When the energy from the fence left my body I slowly sat up- careful not to hurt myself any farther. I grabbed a blood bag from my backpack and sipped it slowly. I had roughly two hours to put as much distance between myself and this place before the sun came up.

Finally, I was free.
