Jim POV
Before I knew it Claire had dragged me out of my room and down to the new-ish tavern. We sat at a table and just talked for a bit. Then suddenly my dad came through the doors and headed to our table. Claire looked at me nervously.
"Hey," I said, "how's it going? And where's Merlin? Did he come with you?" I think I sounded relaxed. Confusion dominated his expression. "What? Is something wrong?"
"Do you min if I sit down?" He said keeping his emotions contained.
"Sure, but are you sure nothings wrong? You sound a bit rattled?"
"Well, I assumed you'd be mad."
"Well, isn't not that I'm not, 'cuz I am, but right now I am hanging out with my girlfriend so, I don't have to address that right now." This again surprised him. We continued talking.
"So I was wondering what should be then next project, we should decide now because if I'm not mistaken, and I'm usually not we have patrol in 10 minutes." She said.
"Well, we do need to set of better security. Back in the old Heartstone market we used the horngauzel but we still haven't been able to set it up properly."
"You know what I agree. We probably should go and get ready now since I'm wearing my regular clothes."
"Yeah agreed, I still need to ask Merlin if there's a way to get off this stupid armor." I started pulling at the amulet again. "Okay," I said once I gave up, "meet you at the entrance in 5?"
"Perfect!" She said, and we both left my dad there by himself, how about that, Karma!

What we honestly didn't account for was that, my dad might follow us.
Just like we agreed upon, me and Claire met at the entrance in about 5 minutes. We set out immediately, without Claire's shadow staff, it was a little hard for her to keep up. We ran past millions of glowing crystals. Eventually we came to the opening in the wall. Luckily, the sun had just gone down, therefore we wouldn't have had to wait. Although, this job does get a little boring. Like evil trolls would just happen upon this area? It's not like it's very well known, and we did just defeat Morgana and Gunmar so, it's doubtful my skills are very useful at the moment.
Me and Claire thought it best to stick together, so that way we could easily pass the time. A few minutes past and I soon became aware this someone or something was following us. I could tell it wasn't very big, possibly a changeling straggler? I kept pretending I hadn't noticed, then I whipped around gripping my sword and pointing it at...
"Why'd you follow us?" I asked pretending to sound uninterested.
"Well," my dad started. Then I knew something was wrong. The feeling I'd been having hadn't gone away, there was still someone watching us.
"Come out," I turned to the empty woods. I could tell my dad was confused. "I said come out! Spy!" Suddenly, a changeling walked out holding his hands in the air and wearing a subtle smirk.
"Impressive Trollhunter." I gritted my teeth after he spoke the last word. I held my sword up as if to defend and readied my boomerang for any oncoming attackers.
"So, are you the only only member of the welcoming committee or are there others?" I asked narrowing my eyes, speaking deeply.
"Yes I have come here alone, as a mere messenger I might add." I lowered my boomerang slightly, and drifted out of my rigid position.
"And what message are you delivering?"
He inhaled, as if to speak for a long time. Then begun to speak in trollish. I stood there slowly deciphering the language and silently thanking Blinky for making me all of those textbooks. Once he stopped speaking, the words turned and bounced around in my head.
"So I'm gonna leave—" I cut him off, swiftly sweeping him off his feet.
"I have a message for your overlord." I replied to the message in trollish. "You got all that? I hope so 'cuz if you didn't, your loss, hope your boss is a kind troll." I shrugged, faking a sigh and I could tell I was smirking, if only slightly.
"Well, he isn't but lucky for me I did get all that." He quickly retreated back into the dense woods.
"You can't be serious Jim, if you go through with it, alone..." Claire spoke with fear behind her words.
"You can't change my mind." I ran off, back towards trollmarket (the new one). I will defeat you.
