"Good morning." Clara smiled at Jacob. "It's nice to see you again."
"And it's nice to see that you're in a good mood. Not to mention all dressed up. Where are we off to?"
"Ah, that's just it. I'm in a good mood because there's going to be no 'us' today. I'm meeting some friends in a bar with a ridiculous cover charge. You can't tag along, for obvious reasons, and my social life is saved."
"And when is this bar meeting?"
"Ten o'clock." she said proudly.
"I wouldn't be here anyways. Enjoy the cover charge."
He started his silent countdown before she could begin moping.
