"Don't get too excited." Jacob warned. "He agreed to meet for coffee, not go on an official date."
"Yeah, but everyone knows that a coffee date is the first step in an eternal relationship."
"For the love of God, please don't tell him that."
"Well what should I tell him. Mr. Expert?"
"Compliment his style. If he's wearing a jacket, that's usually a safe bet."
"Okay. And then?"
"Then smile that excited little grin you do when you're about to go on a tirade about your favorite show, then swallow that tirade and ask him about his day."
"Just ask how his day is going? Isn't that super mundane and boring?"
"It can be, but this time listen. Take interest and if you can't, pretend."
"Okay..."
"Make him feel special, but under no circumstances should you ask him about the status of the relationship."
"Anything else."
"Just keep an eye on me. I'll tap my glasses if things are going poorly, just like before."
"Okay, I think I got it."
"Good luck out there." Jacob started his countdown.
