"Okay, so yesterday was better, but we have got to keep you from rambling."
"I wasn't rambling! I was talking about my interests, just like your book said."
"There's a difference between friendly conversation and nervous rambling."
"Well I was doing fine."
"You weren't."
Clara sighed dramatically. "I know."
"How about this: if you start ranting too much, I'll adjust my glasses. That'll be your cue to shut up."
"You are a genius!"
"I know, I know, I'm the best. But you have to be looking at me, okay?"
"Yeah, promise."
"Great."
There were still a couple of seconds left until filming started, and Jacob took a moment to fiddle with the settibgs on his camera. He had been getting a bit lazy about adjusting them every morning, and it would be best if he got back into the habit.
"Hey Jacob?" Clara inturrupted.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for helping with this whole Liam thing. I know you don't like him."
Jacob didn't respond. Instead, he started his countdown.
