His Baby Girl {Waterloo Road}

Things between Grace and Simon were tense. She hated him for leaving her pregnant. She didn't think she could ever forgive him. She still hadn't let him see Lilly. She didn't want to confuse the little girl.

When morning came, Grace woke to see Lilly sitting on the bed. Max was fast asleep. "Let's go munchkin."

When Grace had made breakfast, Max walked in. Grace grinned. "Your stomach pull you out of bed?" She asked as she gave Lilly her juice.

Max smirked and shrugged. "Maybe I missed the feel of you in my arms and the fact I'm back at work today," he told her.

Grace smiled. "It will all be fine. I promise. I'll be there," she told him.

After they had taken Lilly to her new playgroup, Max drove to Waterloo Road. Grace knew things with Simon were going to be tense between them. But she didn't want to impact on the kids.

The two of them went into the staffroom. Christine walked over. "Hello Grace. Max."

The two of them smiled. Max groaned at seeing Grantly. "I see he's still alive," he mumbled to Grace.

Grace bit her lip. "Stop. Be nice. This is your final chance remember. Make it count," she told him.

Simon walked into the staffroom with Charley. He went over to Grace. "We need to talk about Lilly."

"We have nothing to say. Lilly doesn't know who you are. She would probably be scared of you," Grace said as she drank the remainder of Max's coffee.

Simon sighed. "She's my daughter. I have a right to see her."

"What rights do you have? You gave them up when you walked away before she was born. If I remember, you were the one who didn't want to use condoms. You used the pull out method but I don't think that worked out well for you," she spat.

Max could see the tension between Grace and Simon. He knew he needed to step in. He walked over to Grace. "We can talk about this later on. But for now, teach."

Grace looked at Max. "He's not seeing her. I'm telling you that now. She doesn't know who he is."

Max sighed. "We'll talk about this at home. Right now, we're at work and the pupils need to come first," he said.

Simon walked into Grace's classroom. He saw her looking at her phone. "Can I at least see a picture of her?" He asked.

Grace nodded. She showed Simon the photo of their daughter. Simon smiled. "She has my eyes."

"She does. It's so hard to love her at times because of what you did. But I have Max and he's been a great help. When I met him, I was struggling. He helped me out with Lilly so much," Grace said.

Simon sighed. "I wanna see her."

"Fine. We do this on my terms. If you're serious about that girl you're with, then bring her over tonight too. You can both meet her," she told him.

Later on that evening, Simon and Charley pulled up outside of Grace and Max's house. Simon had bought Lilly some toys.

The two of them walked up the path. Max opened the door and smiled. "Come on in. Grace is in the living room."

Simon and Charley walked in. Grace looked up and smiled slightly. Simon was more focused on the little girl who was sitting on the sofa with a blanket over her.

Grace smiled. "Lilly, this is Simon. He's your daddy," she told her.

Lilly looked at Simon and started crying. She tried to get off the sofa but fell. She toddled over to Max when she got up. Max held her.

After a coupe of hours, Lilly had warmed up to Simon and Charley. She was sitting on Simon's lap as he played with her toys with her.

Charley smiled as she looked at Grace. "This is a nice house."

"Thanks. Needs a bit of work doing but we can sort it can't we babe?"

Max nodded. He went to make some coffee. Grace smiled. "Babe, can you make Lilly her bottle of juice? She got her bed time coming up."

"Sure."

As soon as Lilly had been taken to bed, Simon looked at Grace. "Thank you for this. I appreciate it," he said.

"You're welcome. A few more visits like this and we can possibly discuss you having her overnight," Grace told him.

"I'd like that."

Grace and Max laid in bed later on that night. They had just finished having sex. The door opened and Lilly toddled in. Max put her between them.

Grace kissed her head and sighed. She knew everything was changing. But was she strong to enough to handle everything that was going to be thrown at her?
