Four of the paladins and their Altean counterparts stood in the main control room, silently discussing the new information about their red paladin. They put him in a healing pod once he and Shiro came back from speaking with the Blade of Marmora, he'd been inside since.

Shiro sighed. " I didn't know Keith was Galra, " he spoke calmly and gently, trying to lower the strong tension in the room. Allura shot him a glare. " You of all people had to have known, you two are extremely close, it's hard to believe you didn't know, " she said bitterly, betrayal and venom dripping from her words as she grit her teeth angrily. 

" Woah, Woah, we don't even know if Keith knew he was like this. " Lance spoke up, looking at Allura. " You can't just assume he's been hiding this from us, maybe he didn't know he was half Galra, " he said, defending Keith's behalf. 

Pidge crossed her arms. " Lance has a point; Keith may not have known, so we have no right to accuse him of keeping this a secret from us. Besides, knowing Keith, he would've told Shiro if he knew, " she said. Hunk swallowed. " But what if he did know? " he insinuated, looking around at everyone else. 

Lance's eyes widened. " Are you doubting Keith? " he questioned, not believing that Hunk would turn his cheek. " He's our friend, Hunk, why would you think that? " he bit at him. The yellow paladin looked down. " I'm just saying, " he held his hands up defensively. " maybe Keith was trying to protect us or he was too afraid to tell us, whatever the reason.. " he trailed, feeling everyone's stares on him -- Shiro's gaze was the most terrifying. 

Hunk swallowed thickly as he felt Shiro glare bores within his lowered head. He didn't dare look up at him. Allura sighed sharply. " Whatever the reason; I refuse to have a Galra on my ship, especially when he could turn against us. I'm already worried about Kolivan and his men possibly not sticking to the plan, Keith could be the one. " 

" Princess, you can't just turn your back on him. " Coran placed a hand on her shoulder as he looked at her stone face. " He's only a child, and besides, " he gestured to Shiro. " Shiro has an arm designed by the Galra, nothing has happened with him or it since. Just because Keith is a half-breed doesn't mean he'll inherit every trait a Galra has. " he reasoned, looking at Allura. 

Allura ground her teeth together as she jerked away from Coran's touch. " I don't trust him, he can stay with the Blades until need be, " she said with finality, turning her back to everyone. Shiro narrowed his eyes at the Altean, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles were viciously white. " Keith is a paladin, he's a member of our team and the pilot of the red lion. If you kick him out, then I'm leaving too. " 

The princess turned around quickly. " You can't leave! " she shouted. " We can't form Voltron without you..! " Allura's voice turned softer as she started to plead. 

" You can't form Voltron without me either.. " 

Everyone turned to the doorway, seeing Keith standing there. He looked vulnerable, more so finished with everything. His eyes held nothing readable, his body language radiating that he was full of betrayal. The red paladin simply looked at everyone, his heart heaving as it crackled from the words that he heard. 

" K-Keith.. how long have you been standing there..? " Lance asked quietly, fidgeting his fingers as he looked fearfully at Keith whose expression was completely turgid. He turned his gaze toward the blue paladin. " It doesn't matter, I'm not wanted here anyway... " 

Allura showed Keith a guilty look. " Keith.. that's not what I- " Shiro interrupted her. " Don't try to hide it, Allura, it's exactly what you meant. " he snapped at her, practically snarling like how their lions would. The Altean jumped in fright, stepping away from Shiro while Coran shot a glance at the black paladin. " Now, now Shiro, there's no need to get violent with this, " he said wearily, placing his hands in front of him as he protected the princess from Shiro's ever-growing wrath.
