Another Chance 1

Ming's POV

Do I really need to take this call? The last time we talked is like 3 years ago when I poured out all my emotions. All the anger, frustration, disappointments I slashed it out to her. I am not sorry about it because I know that I will not be able to hold it in for long. I just had my heartbreak that time and the person who I thought I knew just used me for their own convenience. I didn't even talk to them when I decided to take up engineering and my sister did all the talking or meeting up with them. I can't face them. I don't want to meet them. I do not want my hopes up again that they will change or make an effort to reach out to us. 

I used to want for us to be together again and not because just for business purposes. I am having second thoughts in answering the call to them. But when I looked at my   and his family at the living room, I cannot stop myself from wishing that my family would be just like that. Laughing together, supporting each other and setting aside prejudices. Ok, let us see what she wants from me and I will make my decision then if I will make a move in amending what is already damaged from the beginning, our relationship. I took a deep breath before answering the call. 

Ming: Hello? What do you want? **Ooops, it started wrong. **

Mom: Is that how you talk to your mother after three years?

Ming: Well, you've never been one for a long time?

Mom: You, Mingkwan, is such ungrateful child!

Ming: Is that all you want to tell me? I'm gonna drop the call. **I am getting annoyed already.**

Mom: Wait! I' m sorry. It's no---t the rea----son why I called. **I can hear her voice shaking.**

Ming: What is it mom? You sounded like you are about to cry. **I am getting worried.**

Mom: Your dad had a mild heart attack. We're here at the hospital in the main city. He wants, I mean, we want to see you and your sister. 

Ming: What happened? 

Mom: Stress and fatigue are the main cause said by the doctor. Can you drop by please? Can you bring your husband Kittinan as well?

Ming: How did you know about him?!?!? **I was surprised when I heard my Kitkat's name in her mouth.**

Mom: We always watch you and your whereabouts. We just didn't tell you that we hired body guards to watch you from afar. That's why when Ice ordered his men to take you down with your friends, Phana and Forth, they were able to take them down before hurting you. **Oh, that was the night when my Kitkat was scared and called us that night.**

Ming: Thanks about that but it was not necessary. We can take them down on our own.

Mom: Really? You can take down 10 big guys on your own? **Wow, that many! I didn't know about that.**

Ming: Yeah, we can do that. **I lied.**

Mom: We are just glad that you weren't hurt and we were also watching your Kittinan and his brother when he confronted the stalkers. We were impressed how he dealt all of it. He was really in no harm since one of the body guards infiltrated the group to take eyes on them. We ordered them to take them down if they hurt them.

Ming: I am lost in words. 

I am literally lost in words. It's hard to take all in. I forgot how rich my parents are. I am not even sure about their intentions of why they did it in the first place. I do not know how to feel about it. Do I need to be thankful? Grateful? And why now? Why tell me all this now?
