Another Chance 2

Kit's POV

I woke up first and saw MMs sleeping next to me peacefully. I smiled as I watched him as he sleep. You sleep like an angel. So cute. I brushed his hair as I traced my hand to his cheeks to his lips. I hope that he is having a nice dream. This day has been a roller coaster ride but the ride is not yet over. I need to prepare myself in meeting his mother. I haven't heard good stories that much when he talked about his mother since his sister is more like a mother and his nana to him.

All he can remember is about how good her mother was in his younger years. Then, it all changed  when they became rich. At some point, I am still hoping that his relationship to his parents will be amended. I believe that his parents just really want the best for their children that's why they are working hard to prosper their businesses. It's a little bit sad if they could have conveyed it in a gentler way but still spare time to be with them especially at the time of their need. 

It was heartbreaking when their nana died and they left them alone with their secretaries to handle everything. Nana, I wish I could have met her with all the good stories I've heard from MMs. He always describe her someone who reads them a goodnight stories, sing them a lullaby and bring them to parks to have picnics. She was always there to attend their school events like family day, sports festival and cultural festival. She loves to bake and she always bake cookies, cakes or biscuits during Sunday. She always tell them that what their parents do in their businesses is for the sake for both of them. They want to believe that but what they need is their parents to be with them. 

I am hoping that they won't argue when we visit them later. I saw my mom watching me from the door smiling from ear to ear. She approached me and she pulled the chair next to me and sat.

Ma: You really love him, ha.

Kit: Yes ma. I do. 

Ma: I can see the way you look at him and your smile. I love your smile my Kitty.

Kit: It all thanks to this sleepy head.

Ma: Hahahaha, I am glad you met him. 

Kit: I am sorry ma. If I have been distant for these past few years. You know, about everything that happened in the past and I know you were always there.

Ma: No need to say sorry my son. I know how hard you've been through and you need time and space for you to recover. I am thankful for this young man lying next to you for being the reason for you to step forward. Your dad and I will always be there for both of you. So is Kieng who made us convinced about how great Ming is to you. 

Kit: Kieng did that? 

Ma: Yeah, he did. Just don't tell him that I told you that he was a little bit jealous of Ming for making you smile like that.

Kit: Hahaha, I won't tell him that or even Ming. He might get his head big if he hears that.

Ma: Hahaha, so are you ready to meet your in-laws on Ming's side?

Kit: Not yet, I am so nervous. What if they don't like me like you did to Ming?

Ma: Don't worry. You are such a lovable son. Who wouldn't love you?

Kit: I hope so Ma. I don't want to add another hurdle to their relationship.

Ma: Everything will be just fine and besides we're here for both of you and the babies. If they disown him or mistreat you, we will take care of you both. We accepted Ming in our family. His enemies is our enemies. 

Kit: Thanks you. You're the best. 

Ma: Of course. Hahaha, just don't tell your dad about that. Hahaha, he'll compete with me for being the best parent.
