The Fall of Wall Maria

<21 years old>

We have just gotten back from our Recon Mission and it was my first one with the Scouting Legion. It wasn't a successful one. We had failed to get any information about the Titans and we lost a lot of men. Most of us were injured including me I had bandages around my forehead and my hands were wrapped up because I burned them. As we were passing through the Shiganshina District people were yelling at us and were demanding answers. A lady came up to us asking where her son was. The Squad Leader decided to give her what they recovered. Someone grabbed a wrapped up blanket out of the cart and handed it to her.

"I'm sorry that was all we could recover." He said and the lady started crying. I started moving forward but she said something making me stop and look back.

"Tell me... Tell me his death wasn't in vain! He was some use right! Tell me his death meant something!" She yelled the last part and the leader fell to the floor.

"He was brave! Butt.. his sacrifice meant nothing! This day was lost! We have nothing! Your son is dead because of me I sent him to his death. I sent all of them to their deaths and there's nothing to show for it all of it ends to nothing." He shouted and everyone went silent I clenched my fists and teeth as I moved forward. I started to cry so I leaned my head down for my bangs to hide my face while the rest of my hair was pulled back into a high ponytail.

<Later that day>

Later that day I was walking back to my barracks as I passed the Commander's office door. Someone ran past me as he rammed into my shoulder knocking me to the floor. I landed on my rear as he stopped at the Commander's door.

"Sorry Melissa!" he said then opened the door to the Commander's Office

"Commander! Wall Maria has fallen!" he yelled and the Commander looked at him with a serious look. I stared at the man in shock.

"H-How?... How is that possible!"

"A Colossal Titan appeared and kicked the gate open. Then an Armoured Titan appeared and ran through the second gate!"
