Chapter 3 - A Small World.
Georgia slammed the front door of her house. Her mother's screams and cursing still heard through the shut door.
"GEORGIA KAREN SYKES, COME BACK HERE THIS RIGHT NOW." Her mother yelled. This isn't the first time that Georgia and her mother had their disagreements. And it certainly wasn't the last, unfortunately for Georgia.
She groaned, walking away from her house, the only person she could probably think of going to right now was Alex. Alex was the first person to know about her and her mother's arguments. Alex understood too. Georgia was the only child in her family unlike the girls.
Georgia's only siblings were the girls. She walked towards Alex's house, reaching a blue door with the number 199 on it.
She knocked twice before entering the homely atmosphere.
"APRIL, WOULD YOU PLEASE GET OUT OF MY ROOM?" Georgia heard Alex yell from upstairs as soon as she walked in.
"ALEX, BE NICE TO YOUR SISTER. Oh hello, Georgia." Susan Jacob, came in to the front door to see who it was who walked in. Her face looking kind as always.
"Hey, Susan." Georgia greeted back. "Alex is up in her room. As you can guess." Susan said, joking a bit before she left Georgia to go upstairs while she went to the kitchen.
Georgia walked upstairs, paced towards Alex's room, or as Alex likes to call it 'her cave'. She peeped into the room, her little sister jumping on her bed, and Alex just standing in the middle of the room with her hand on her forehead.
"Hey, am I interrupting something?" Georgia asked jokingly, catching Alex's attention. "Oh good god, thank you so much for coming." Alex praised Georgia, going in for a hug.
"What happened?" Georgia asked, hugging her back. "I may or may not have given her extra candy and now she's on a sugar rush." Alex explained sheepishly.
"Oh god." Georgia murmured, staring at the 5 year old, basically using Alex's bed as a trampoline.
"Help.." Alex muttered to Georgia, both of them staring at April looking mortified at how a young girl could have so much energy.
"No man, you're on your own on this one." Georgia said, trying to run out of the room. Alex caught her before she could reach the stairs and dragged her back to her room.
"What happened to you? You seem low." Alex asked, noticing the change in Georgia's mood. "My- " Georgia was cut off by the hyperactive 5 year old's screams of excitement.
Alex winced at the noise, she pulled Georgia outside her room, shutting the door to block out April's screams.
Alex looked back at Georgia, urging her to continue. "It's just my mom." Georgia said, sighing.
Alex already knew what she meant. Alex gave her a sympathetic look, pulling into a hug.
"You wanna stay here tonight?" Alex asked pulling back. Georgia stayed at one of the girl's places when she got into a huge argument with her mother. It was usually Alex's place. Susan didn't mind, as long as they didn't mess up the house.
"Sure, but I'm only staying after she calms down." Georgia joked, pointing at the door.
"You and me both." Alex said, opening the door to her room.
They found April going through her wardrobe, with Alex's neon green bra on her head.
"APRIL CECILIA JACOB. LEAVE MY CLOTHES ALONE."
