Chapter 21 - Insecurities.

Chapter 21 - Insecurities. 

"Do you want to run away?" 

"Sure." She answered. 

Niall let go of her hands, "Wait, what?" Niall looked at her horrified, "I was just kidding. I didn't really want to run away."

Ashley snapped back, "Yeah, pfft. I was kidding too. Pfft." Ashley said crossing her arms in front of her chest. 

"No no," Niall said panicking. "You were going to run away with me." Niall panicked, pointing his finger at her accusingly, "You were going to drop everything and run away with me."  

Ashley groaned, she said something she shouldn't and now Niall is panicking because of her. 

"Oh god. This is way too soon." Niall said walking backwards, his hand pulling the hair on the back of his head, "I have to go. I'll see you later." Niall took a sharp breath, "If I'm not in the corner of my room panicking." He mumbled to himself but Ashley heard him. 

Niall was turned to leave but didn't see the doorframe and hit his head. He held his forehead and stumbled out. 

Ashley groaned as she had the utmost urge to punch herself.

Alex was sitting on the school quad the next day,  she was doodling on a random book she had and had her earphones on. 

She felt someone sitting beside her, she looked up and saw Aria grumpy face. Alex chuckled at her expression, pulling out her earphones to listen to her friend. 

"I feel sad, Alex." Aria whined hugging Alex's arm. 

Alex chuckled slightly, "Why? What happened?" 

Aria sat up right, "Uh.. I uh.. Sometimes feel.." She began to get uncomfortable, she didn't quite think it through, "I..uh.  You know what, never mind." Aria stood up changing her mind about the whole situation. She felt it was too stupid to share. 

Alex held her wrist and tried to pull her down back to her seat, "No, tell me. Please?" 

Aria sighed and sat down, "Okay, sometimes I feel... Uh.. Disconnected with Luke."  

Alex quirked her eyebrow in question, "Disconnected? As in?" 

Aria sighed tiredly, "As in, Luke and I have no similar interests. I'm actually scared because we have nothing in common. I like cars and.. Fashion and.. Electronic gadgets." 

Alex nodded listening intently as Aria ranted, "And Luke likes, music and... Books and.. Mila Kunis!" Aria said frustrated. 

Alex looked into space, "Mila Kunis is pretty hot.." She joked. She turned back to meet Aria's poker face. 

"Sorry," Alex muttered as Aria continued, "Its just that, it seems like we have nothing in common. You and Luke have more in common than Luke and I do. " 

Alex subtly winced at that, she cleared her throat and spoke, "Look, Aria. Luke likes you, right?" 

Aria nodded as a reply. 

"And you like him, right?" 

Aria nodded furiously, "I really do." 

"So whats the problem? If two people like each other, then thats what matters." Alex said, Aria thought about it and nodded her head as an agreement.
