When I realized what street I was on, I ran faster. Faster than I could. The coffee was coming in close view now. My heart was trying to jump out of my chest but I wouldn’t let it. But when I got even closer, I realized the shop was closed. I slowed down my pace and stood in front of the shop.

Looking inside the warm place. Imaging myself having a nice cup of coffee. My legs gave up and I slid on to the floor, trying to catch my breath. I had nowhere to go.

“Can I help you?” A lady said coming out the shop and locking it up.

“Do you know where I can find Drew?” I asked. She frowned and looked at me up and down.

“And you are?” She asked. She seemed tired, like she had a bad day in work.

                “Jessica. Drew’s friend.”

She looked liked if she was thinking weather to believe me or not. But either way she said, “I’ll take you to him.” She started walking and I followed her. “I hope you don’t mind getting in a strangers car.” She said opening her car.

“I have nothing else to live for.”

The car ride was awkward for me. I started to play with my hands that laid on my lap and looked out the window the whole time. Lucky for me, the car ride wasn’t that long.

We soon pulled up in front of a big house. She turned off the car and pulled her back from the back seat.

She got out the car and I did too following her every move. When she pulled out her key and opened the door, I frowned. “You live with Drew?” I asked.

                She nodded and smiled. “Yea.”

When we walked inside Drew was in the kitchen cooking dinner.

“Hey Drew,” The girl said. “Some girl is here to see you. She says her name is Jessica.”

He dropped everything and looked our way with wide eyes. “Jessica, what are you doing here?” He asked.

“I need a place to stay.” I said. “I didn’t want to ask but right now I have no other choice.” I said.

Drew looked confused and walked closer to me. “What about Liana and John?”

“I can’t go back there.” I mumbled looking at the ground.

“Why?” The girl cut him off.

“Stop asking so many questions and let the poor girl stay.” She said rolling her eyes at him.

“Lilly, I know. But I’m worried about her.”

Lilly smirked. “Aw, you have a little crush.” She said winking at me.

I turned to look back at Drew and then back to the floor. “You can stay with me. I would tell you to stay with Lilly but her boyfriend comes to stay over like every day.” He said trying to lighten up the mood.

                “Thank you.” I mumbled.

“No problem.” He took my hand and led me into the kitchen. “Want to watch me cook?” He asked.

                “Sure.” I said.

Lilly walked up to me holding a cup in her hand. “Here’s some hot coco.” She said. “We need to get you out of those wet clothes. I’ll get something of mines.”

Lilly looked smaller then me in body. But in age she didn’t. I don’t know how I was going to fit her clothes, but I did want to get out of these. “Your roommate seems cool.” I said.

“She’s a pain in the ass is what she is.” He said shaking his head.

I laughed. “Then why do you live with her?” I asked.

“Because I’m used to it. Besides, she was in trouble in her last house, so since I’m a good brother, I let her stay with me.”

“She’s your sister?” I asked shocked. They looked nothing alike. Drew had black hair. Lilly had the blondest hair I ever seen. Her eyes were blue, and big. Drew’s eyes were green.

He laughed. “Yea, I know. We look nothing alike.” He said. “But yea, she’s my sister.”

Lilly came back with clothes and she smiled. “Here I hope they fit. Oh, and you should probably shower in hot water to warm up more.”  She said.

“Thank you.” I said getting up. When I was about to walk away I stopped and looked at her. “Where’s the bathroom?” I asked.

“Oh right, I forgot.” Lilly said shaking her head. “Follow me. I followed her into a long hallway and up some steps. Lilly stopped and said, “When you get to the top of the steps, the bathroom will be on your right.” She said pointing up.

“Thank you.” I said once again.

“No need to thank me.” She said and walked back down to the kitchen. I could hear Drew and Lilly talking about dinner and family coming over. I let it go and walked into the bathroom.

“Oh my god.” I gasped. “Are these people rich?” I asked myself.
