I'm not good at introductions so.. let's let It do what it do
She felt the warm sand between her toes, it was a welcoming feeling, she's never been to the beach before.
"Mommy!"
Brenda's head lifted in caution, not realizing there were people around her. She saw a little girl twirling around in her baby blue dress. She looked to be 8 Years of age, but she couldn't be sure. Brenda began to walk towards the girl when her nose hit something that felt like glass and was forced to cut her journey short.
"Ow," she rubbed her nose in frustration.
The girl kept playing happily as the Mother and Father watched. She then started up her twirling again, but this time heading for the water. She went in knee level, then in a matter of seconds, fully in. Her parents than started to pack up. Her gaze left the parents and she now focused on the little girl who was now drowning. No, no, no!
"Ay! Ay, she can't swim!"
She didn't receive a response. Not even the tiniest glance.
"Hey! Your kids drowning idiots!"
She pounded on what now became clear to her was some kind of force field. A force field in memories? Something's seriously up.
They didn't once look at her, as if she weren't even there.
"Help her! Hey! Heeey!"
Brenda yelled until her throat became sore, her attempts useless. The parents finished packing and left, leaving the girl to die. This was up to her now. She didn't stop pounding on the field and to her luck it disappeared, no longer holding her body she fell to the ground. She caught herself and jumped into a full on sprint to get to the girl.
With every step, Brenda came closer to the now motionless body, floating away in the darkened blue.
"Brenda."
She heard a voice call to her, but wasn't able to distinguish where it was coming from. As she looked back at the girl her body was beginning to sink. She found it odd that she didn't hear a single whine or scream from the child. If it was her she would've been screaming like a lunatic. Her heart broke at the sight, what kind of people would do this to a child? She felt disgusted, she went into the water, not caring how cold it was. It seemed as if the deeper she got, the more the girls body floated away and threatened to be swallowed whole by the endless blue abyss of the ocean. The water was ice cold, her asthmatic lungs felt confined against the freezing water. She knew she wouldn't make it much longer.
Just swim Brenda, swim. Swim. Swi-
"Brenda!"
Her head jerked around to find the provider of the voice, but she found nothing. She looked out once again to where the little girl should've been floating, hopefully still alive, but something new had taken her place.
