"Where have you been? Did professor grump let you back into his class today?" Luke asked as I walked through the door.
"No but I did manage to finish my assignment and he read through it and said it was fantastic so all is well again" I smiled, still remembering what it was like to feel my hands in his. Luke eyed me suspiciously for a moment before approaching me.
"What happened? You didn't kiss him did you?"
"What? No! Like I told you, it's a crush. Nothing else" I may have lied, slightly but technically nothing did happened and even if it had it was none of Luke's business.
"Okay. I believe you. So do you wanna celebrate?"
"You read my mind!"
"The fair is in town tonight. Mikey wanted to go and I said I'd go with him. You up for it?"
"Hell yes!" I replied, throwing myself onto the sofa and flicking my shoes off at Luke. "But I'm super hungry. I need food first"
"Why? They'll have hot dog stands and stuff there! I'm sure you can wait another 10 minutes" Luke grabbed hold of my wrists and pulled me back to my feet. He pushed my shoes towards me and smiled, urging me to hurry up. Just as we were about to leave a FaceTime call came through to my mobile from home. I rolled my eyes and glanced over at Luke, "I'll have to take this. Haven't spoken to mum and dad for over a week. Sorry"
"It's okay. Go ahead" he sat back down as I accepted the call. Mum and dad were sat down on the sofa together, waving towards the camera.
"Hi baby, how's it going? You settled in now?" Mum asked.
"You got a flat mate yet, A?" Dad butted in. "Give us a tour of the place"
"Bloody hell guys, give me a chance to answer a question before asking another one!" I sighed, wandering around the flat with the camera and giving them a 360 tour of the place.
"Who's the boy?" Mum jumped in, clearly spotting Luke on the sofa.
"My roommate. His name is Luke" I flashed the camera back towards him and he gave them an awkward wave. "Mum, dad? I'd love to stay and chat but we're heading out so I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"
"Don't get too drunk and let that boy take advantage of you"
"Dad! Stop! Goodbye!" I exclaimed, giving Luke an apologetic look. They waved goodbye and blew me a couple of kisses before disconnecting the call. "I'm so sorry. Can we go now?"
"Sure"

It seemed as though the whole campus had decided to go to the fair tonight, it was jam packed with drunken students so I kept a tight grip on Luke's arm as we walked through the crowds. Michael had said he would meet us by the Ferris wheel so when we arrived at the queue he signalled for us to join him near the front. Unbelievably so Ashton was stood in front of us and as soon as he heard my voice he turned around to see me.
"Oh hello, Alexa. Good to see you" he smiled, his eyes flashing on to Luke and Michael, who were staring right back at him.
"Hey Ashton. You here alone?" I wasn't even sure why I asked that question, I guess I was fishing for information. Was he married? Or engaged? A part of me had to know.
"Yeah, I just came to ride the Ferris wheel. It's been my favourite thing since I was a little boy. Plus I wanted to win one of those giant inflatable bananas, I reckon it would look good on my desk" he smirked and I wasn't sure if he was being serious or not but I found myself giggling.
"I don't think that would fit on your desk, sir"
"Ashton, please" he corrected me, now focusing all his attention on me. For a moment I forgot about Luke and Michael, that was until I felt a hand on my shoulder.
