Over the next couple of months things seemed to get a little easier for myself and Ashton. We had mastered the art of subtlety and in between secret rendezvous' in the back of his car and romantic weekend's at his place with a couple of bottles of wine and a movie; we had managed to stay professional. I was flourishing with my coursework and Ashton was now tutoring us for our end of semester exam. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to watch all the other girls drool over him at the front of class and know that I would be going home with him.

Things with Michael, on the other hand, hadn't gotten any better. We would exchange smiles and a passing hello but whenever the guys were all hanging out together he would make an excuse to leave if I tried to join them. In the end I had given up trying, even though it broke my heart to do so.

"Guess what?" Luke beamed, bouncing up off the sofa as soon as I walked through the door. My eyes immediately fell onto Michael, who was still playing on the ps4 and straight up ignoring me. Calum gave me a quick wave and was also looking pretty pleased with himself.

"Go on?" I urged, a little anxious. Usually these kind of conversations ended up with me being pranked by the guys.

"We have a gig !" Luke and Calum cried in unison. I stared at them for a moment, a little bit taken aback by their announcement. They hadn't been practicing much lately or even mentioned the band but this was amazing news.

"Where?"

"It's an unsigned bands night at one of the local clubs! There's going to be hundreds of people there!" Luke's little face was practically lit up like a Christmas tree and as soon as he announced it I practically dived on to him; knocking him back onto the couch where Calum then decided to jump on top of us too. Michael remained on the floor and without thinking I wrapped my arm around his neck, dragging him into the celebration pile. He didn't push me off this time; instead he joined in for a moment and threw his arm across the three of us.

"When is it then?... Cal? Can you stop digging your elbow into my back?"

"That's not my elbow" he chuckled.

"Wahayy!" The boys teased and I wriggled out of the sandwich, falling on to the floor beside Michael. He automatically shuffled away from me and I got to my feet, not wanting him to feel uncomfortable.

"It's on Saturday night. We've already got your ticket sorted" Calum smiled up at me. "You're vip"

"And so I should be"

"We would have invited Ashton but..." Luke trailed off.

"It's fine. He wouldn't be able to come anyway"

"Be surprised if you turn up then..." Michael muttered. I ignored his comment and made an excuse to head to my room. I congratulated the guys one more time before retreating to my bed and calling Ashton for our goodnight chat.

-

"So you're not coming over this weekend?" Ashton asked me, pouting his lips.

"I'll come over on Sunday if you want me to?"

"You better make it up to me" he winked, biting down on my neck and causing me to scream. The two of us had been lay in bed for the past couple of hours; this was one of our favourite pass times. We'd chat about our childhood and Ashton would tell me about Australia and how he would love to take me there some day. I enjoyed watching him talk about his family; his eyes would light up at the thought of them.

"I definitely will" I winked rolling over on top of him and kissing his nose. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that he was mine.

"What if I come and pick you up after the gig? Kinda want to get my hands on you when you're drunk and vulnerable"
