Out of Bounds || Ashton Irwin Fanfic

Chapter 19: Within a minute we were all packed up.

I hadn't told anyone my plan just yet; I knew it was crazy but that's the kind of life I was used to now. Ashton had been banging on about some sort of getaway and I couldn't wait to surprise him.

"What you thinking about?" Luke startled me, bursting into my room. I frowned in his direction and quickly stuck the tickets underneath my bum.

"Coursework" I lied, saying the first thing I could think of.

"Yeah? And what did you just hide from me?" Luke investigated, tackling me backwards on to the mattress and trying his best to lift me up. I struggled underneath him and took hold of the tickets; pushing them into my pillow case.

"I can't tell you yet! I'll tell you tonight, I swear"

"I don't like this" Luke sighed, releasing me from his grip and rolling off of me. "Give me a clue?"

"You're going to tell me off"

"That's a sucky clue but at least now I know it has something to do with Ashton"

The two of us made awkward eye contact and I decided to tell him, get it out the way. I lay back on the bed and pulled out the tickets, silently handing them over to Luke. He was silent, mouth open and eyes fixed on the tickets in front of him.

"Australia?"

"Mhm"

"You paid for two flights to fucking Australia ?"

"Yeah I thought it would be nice-"

"This is ridiculous Alexa. You've spent £2000 on flights and for what? You think he is going to want to introduce you to his family? You're his student. He's your teacher. How is this a good idea?" He started to raise his voice; exactly what I had been expecting.

"I know it's a bit much but we've been talking and-"

"And what? He said 'Ooh I know why don't you surprise me with a trip to Australia?'"

"Let me finish a fucking sentence then, Luke" I demanded, getting to my feet and snatching the tickets back out of his hand.

"You know what? I'm done. Don't come crying to me when it all goes wrong"

It hurt to hear Luke talk to me like that but I wasn't going to let him spoil the moment. I was going to go to Ashton's, surprise him and have a perfect night. So I grabbed my bag, snatched the tickets from his hands and sent Ashton a text to come and pick me up, leaving Luke still sat on the edge of my bed.

"What's wrong, grumpy?" Ashton asked as soon as we walked through his front door. I had been silent for the whole car journey, trying to calm myself down but now we were completely alone I dragged him up the stairs and into the bedroom.

"Eager huh?" He smirked, watching me as I flicked off my shoes and climbed underneath the duvet.

"I just want a cuddle" I pouted, holding out my arms. I didn't have to ask twice, within seconds Ashton was lay beside me. I nuzzled into his chest and he kissed my forehead.

"Come on then, what's up?"

"I don't really want to talk about it. Tell me about your day?"

"Okay... I taught the third years today and they have a huge assignment due at the end of the month which is based around one of the most famous racial trials in America. It's a tough one so I ended up staying behind doing a Q and A session with some of the students that were still struggling"

"You're such a kind tutor" I smiled, circling my finger around his chest.

"I told you, I care about my students"
