A world without you

I woke up in a heat, my back was on fire and I was sweating, but something wasn't right. I looked around the room I was in and didn't recognize it. Wooden walls around me and I was sitting in a beat up looking bed. Where was I? Just then the door opened and Aria stepped in, "Aimee darling, you're finally awake!" She chimed with the most innocent looking smile on her face. I couldn't believe my eyes. I panicked and burst out of the cottage and started running. I soon began to realize where I was, this was the village I'd apparently been born in, Caleb supposedly grew up here too. I came to a halt when I heard a familiar laugh and turned around to see Caleb talking to another male figure. He stopped and looked my direction as the other male turned around; it was Noah.
I ran over to them and hugged Caleb "you have no idea how happy I am to see you!" I say in relief as Caleb pushes me off of him. "Aria is here, what's going on?" I say but he looks awfully confused.
"Who are you and what are you talking about?" Caleb says.
"Come in stop joking around this is serious!" I say. He doesn't say a word so I turn to Noah. "Noah what the hell?"
Noah straightens up and defensively places a hand in his sword, "who the hell are you and how do you know my name?" He says.
"You guys really don't know who I am?" I ask a little hurt.
"Look of you're trying to get me to cheat on my fiancé then it's not going to work." Caleb says.
Fiancé?
"Who? What? I am your fiancé! It's me, Aimee! The golden angel? Savior of Arel?" I say. "Where's Pandora? She'll know!" I say and just then Caleb pulls out his sword and points it at my throat causing me to take a step back.
"What do you know of that horse?" He says "and what nonsense do you speak of?"
"Pandora is my myth"
"Pandora is nobody's myth, a rouge, and the strongest of them all, we had to lock her away in a box, and threw it into the infinite sea in the meadow of myths." Noah says.
"No" I whisper quietly. "I'll free her, you'll see! She'll know what to do!" I say as I start to back away but I hit a rather taller man behind me. Caleb's father. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that miss" he says sternly. Completely in shock I take off running "don't let her get away" I hear him order from behind me, "and if she resists, kill her" tears start raining down my face as I start picking up speed. I don't really know where I'm going or where the meadow is in relation to the village so I take to the sky for an aerial view. I quickly spot the mountains and fly that way as quickly as possible. A bolt of lightning nearly knocks me out of the sky, glancing behind me, Caleb and Noah and following close behind with six other unfamiliar men. They threw everything they had at me but I was able to doge everything and managed to hold a force field around me until I reached the meadow and spotted the body of water where Pandora was locked away. As I reached the edge of the water, a body pushed me to the ground forcefully, I looked up for the last time to see Caleb's face as he drove his sword into my heart.

I woke up in a screaming fit, clutching my chest I fell off my bed, barely able to breathe. Amber burst through my bedroom door and that's when I realized I was back in earths realm, in my room. "Bad dream again?" She said helping me up off the floor. "Caleb killed, pandora- Aria, she..."
"yeah yeah it's always the same thing, they'll go away eventually, they always do." She says and walks into my closet rummaging through my clothes. "Hurry up, or we'll be late for school and put this on, it's cute!" She says throwing an outfit out of the closet at me. "Oh and I'm totally wearing these shoes today! Can you believe it? In just a few days we'll be done with school and graduate college!" Amber chimes.
"No" I say. And in a blink of an eye, I numbly went on with the week with Amber and Katie at school, we graduated and then I remembered, I remembered everything. Here I was staring down at Logan who was down on one knee in front of everyone at my graduation party. The words 'will you marry me' fell out of his mouth and rung in my ears. "No!" I shout in a nervous panic, snapping back into reality.
"No? Wait why?" Logan questioned, confusion slapped across his face.
"Because I'm in love with someone else, and you should be dead!" I say and run away. Away from be crowd Katie pulls me to a screeching halt.
"Aimee what the hell is going on, what do you mean you're In love with someone else?" Katie says.
"Caleb! I love Caleb! Don't you remember? And Amber, you love Devon, why are you always sucking face with Daniel?" I pant.
"Who the fuck is Devon?" Amber says disgusted.
"What has gotten into you Aimee, the love of your life just proposed to you and now you start making up things?"

After that night I shut the world out. I locked myself in my room and hardly came out for food and talked to no one. I'm not even sure how many days had passed. I missed everyone, especially Caleb. How could I live in a world without him? And what happened to Aria? Did I kill her? Why am I even here. What's happening. I needed to clear my head, I set foot out of my room and walked downstairs only to my horror, what was waiting for me in the kitchen changed everything. Four men in black scrubs standing around my mom with tears in her eyes, the saddest I've ever seen her. "Aimee sweetie, they're here to help you" 'Emerson mental hospital' was embroidered in white stitching in their uniforms. My mother really called people to lock me away in a psych ward.
Without hesitation I found myself running. Running to a place I hadn't been to in what felt like forever. I could hear police sirens blaring behind me as I picked up my speed until I finally reached the beach house. It was different somehow, there was a family inside who turned and looked at me horrified as 2 police cars and a white van pulled up behind me. "Aimee give up, this is for your own good" a male voice sounded on a microphone from one of the police cars. The sky was a dark gray and it started to thunder. I don't know what came over me but acting upon instinct I ran for the ocean and jumped into the water. Swimming further and further out to the horizon.
With every flash of lightning I saw a flashback of my past in Arel with my friends, with Caleb. The waves grew bigger and soon I was swallowed by the sea, the last flash of lightning- Caleb's concerned face was staring down at me, tears filled his eyes. "I knew you would wake up" he said softly.
I reached up and cupped his face with my right hand. "Do you remember me?" I say in the smallest voice.
"I'll never forget you" he smiles, I close my eyes and out lips meet. This is the time I know it's real, and the nightmares are over.
