When we got back to the castle, we rushed through the gates and ordered for them to close it. We rode into the stables where Katie and Amber stood paitently, waiting. Caleb hopped off and ran out to warn everybody of what was happening. We called out a breach and our strongest angel forces began to put up barriers around the castle. Some were ordered to put barriers up to the nearest villages, others to help hold the barrier and others to help rid of the smoke. 'That smoke will kill on contact' Pandora warns. "What happened?" Caleb asked. One more second and I would have been dead if Pandora wasn't there to save me. I felt sick, and found myself wearly walking up to my room without giving Caleb any answer. Katie and Amber walked in a few seconds behind me as I slumped onto my bed.
Amber sat on the edge of my bed and Katie stood over me placing a warm comforting hand on my back. "Aimee, what's wrong" Amber asks softly.
"I almost got us killed because of some stupid feeling I had" I say.
"But Caleb said you were being controlled again, you had no control over yourself. It wasnt your fault." katie says.
"Well caleb is wrong!" I shout sitting up on my bed. I stand up and continue. "I was controlled for only a few seconds, and then I pushed that feeling out of me. I followed it because I thought it would bring me to some answers but it didnt and I almost got us killed. And I'm-" I started to rant when I was cut off by the door closing. Caleb stood at the door and the room filled with an awkward silence. Amber and Katie finally walked out of the room leaving Caleb and I alone.
"Go on" he says. I sigh heavily and walk out on the balcony to catch my breath and get some fresh air before continuing.
"I'm supposed to be this savior for all these people and some of them look up to me too, but I can't with the things I get myself into. I think you have the wrong person, I'm not 'The Golden Angel' you guys think I'm cut out to be. I want to go back home and go on living my normal life again" That's a lie. Well most of it was true, I was disappointed in myself but I didn't want to throw all this away and go back to my earth realm. My parents probably don't even care that I'm gone and Logan had already pushed me away so he obviously doesn't care about me anymore. (Plus I've got Caleb now).
The more I thought about my previous life, the sicker I felt.
"I think you did the right thing" He says. What?
"Aimee, you believed in yourself. You were determined to find the answers and the solution of our problem and you fought for it. You knew you could push that evil out and you did, you fought. You said you wanted answers and you pushed for them and never gave up. That's what a good leader does" He says. I looked up at the sky and watched as angels frantically moved to hold up a barrier to keep the deathly cloud out of the castle.
"But I nearly got us killed?" I say still looking up.
"And that's the sacrifices we make" he continued "some things we do get us into life or death situations, ones that we may not be able to take on by ourselves. That's why we have others to help us along the way. Those who follow us, or you in this case, we make a vow to follow you and do whatever it takes to get you to where you need to be and keep you safe, even if it kills us."
"You would die for some stupid choice I made because I wanted to save a horse?" I ask tearing up a little.
"We know the consequences that the journey we partake will cause, we know that if we mess up one little thing it might cost us our life but in the end, were all fighting for one thing, fighting alongside a great leader. Aimee, If I died today helping you save Pandora, it wouldn't have mattered because you would have gotten out safe and alive" He says.
"And I would have stopped you because you don't deserve do die like that" I say looking back at him.
"That's what makes you a great leader" He smiles down at me.
The sound of horrified people screaming finally caught our attention and we looked up to find the source. The barrier was not holding and it was starting to dissipate.
Another gut feeling, oh great.
I unfurled my wings and flew up to the top center of the barrier, the eye of the cloud. I felt my whole body warm up as I stretched my wings and arms out. A rod of light formed in my right hand and glowed bright until I grasped it; the rod of light turned into a golden staff. Golden light shimmered around me, "Get out of my kingdom" I spat a little pissed off. The light shined brighter by the second following my threat. Fully embraced by the light, I cut through the deathly cloud . Electrifying golden light surged through the cloud, eating away at it. Finally the light and the cloud disappeared and so did the barrier.
Some one flew up to me a few minutes later when my staff had faded away and people started cheering. She looked almost like me, Long golden blonde hair, blue eyes and a heart shaped face. Her wings white but not quite the same definition mine that were. "Aimee you're amazing how did you do that!?" she glowed. Two other girls flew up from behind her, one had light brown hair and her eyes were green, the other looked like a mirror image of Katie, jet black hair and blue eyes. They introduced themselves, the first who came up to me was Casey and the green eyed girl floating next to her was Hannah, and finally the Katie look-alike was Jade.
We flew back to my balcony where Caleb enthusiastically pulled me into an embrace. Katie and Amber ran in and congratulated me. "Aimee that was amazing!" Katie gasped in awe hugging me. Amber announced that everyone wanted a big celebration tonight.
"Katie?" Jade spoke, as Katie turned to acknowledge her, Jade froze.
"Jade?" Hannah asked trying to get her attention as her face began to pale.
"Oh my god," Jade whispered
"Hey, that's really funny you look just like me!" Katie said trying to lighten the awkward moment. Then it clicked to me, I hadn't introduced them yet, how could she-
"Jade!" Hannah and Casey kept calling out to her when finally she snapped out of it and locked her hands with Katie. Okay, this is getting weird.
A white light encircled them as we all watched as they were lifted into the sky. Wisps of light wrapped around them and embraced them to the point where we could see them no more. A white feather drifted in front of us and Hannah reached out to grab it. We all focused on the feather confused until Casey broke our focus. "Look!" she pointed upward to where Katie and Jade were, I felt as if I were about to pass out. There, floating in the sky was Jade, and Katie, and their wings stretched out in all their glory.
