Katie laughed as she caught my reference. The men finally reached us and panted in exhaustion. "Why were you so far from the group?" I yelled at them.
"We were making sure the area was clear." the taller one responded.
"Next time don't go anywhere or do anything unless I call it." I say angrily drawing my sword as I spot the armada of puppets drawing near. "Everyone, take them by their heads!" I ordered and pressed forwards into the armada. I tore my way through the middle of the group. They didn't find just a few they found a whole army. "Pandora! how many?" I called out to her,
'Too many, I can't count. At least two hundred or so of them!' she shouted back taking out a line of five.
"Just work with Zeus on the outer edges, we need to pick out the middle." I exclaimed taking out two in a row driving my sword through their skulls and forcefully kicking them backwards while pulling my sword out, the rotted flesh tore their heads off at the force of being pushed and pulled two ways. At least a half an hour going by and we were still fighting. One of the puppets looked larger than all the others; like a tank.
I panicked and looked around for sights of Caleb, we made a great team when in came to killing these things. It was almost too late as the colossal turned around and saw me. I tried to fly upward to get a higher advantage on him, but instead he knocked me out of the sky. Tumbling through the sky I crashed into Noah as I hit the ground. "What the hell Aimee?" he growled. My face lit up when I saw him, if not Caleb, Noah was next in line as my favorite bad ass.
"Help!" I squealed.
"In case you noticed, I'm a little busy here!" He pointed out.
"hey you two! Stop slacking off or I'll tell Caleb you're cheating on him!" I heard Devon yell at us from a distance.
"We're not cheating!" Noah and I both protested.
Devon's amused laughter turned into a scream as lightning struck beside him.
"Look I'll just do my job and you do yours okay?" Noah said getting up from the ground and began to charge forward back into the fight.
"Noah wait!" I called after him grabbing his arm before he could get too far away from me. "Noah, please I need you'r help and I can't find Caleb" I said The colossal finally found us and charged towards us
"With wha-" he started to say as I pulled him around to face the puppet that charged towards us. "What the hell is that!" Noah freaked helping me up but not letting the puppet out of his sight.
Noah unsheathed his sword and pressed forwards at the colossal, I followed behind him trying to cut the puppet at his base as Noah hacked away without a care with his sword. The puppet was finally weakening, now was my chance to take him out. I took flight again hoping to catch him off guard this time 'look out!' Pandora shouted as she came in front of me knocking me out of the way. I was thrown back through the air again but this time Noah caught me. 'Sorry' she apologized.
"Why won't anyone let me just kill this bastard!" I raged as I got back to my feet. Then I realized what was happening, we had almost taken out every singe puppet, but the colossal was absorbing the last few that still remained into its body.
And he was getting bigger.
'We need to get out of here. He'll be too strong!' Pandora warned us. I looked over my shoulder to see Caleb running towards us. I ran his way and met up with him half way.
"One last fight, are you with me?" I asked.
"Where else would I be?" He smiled down at me. With that we strode towards the colossal and hit it with electric and fiery waves of magic. I shot a wave of wind hoping to maybe knock him off guard but he barely moved at the touch. I thought back to where Atlas had used that attack on me that encased me completely in ice. That day before the earthquake, Atlas had transferred over some of his energy and power to me.
I took flight and blasted his bottom half with fire. Closing my eyes I willed the fire to turn to ice, trying to tap the power deep within me. I felt my fingertips going numb, and when I opened my eyes the orange and yellow flames turned into light blues that crept up his legs and barely reached his waist. The fire turned to ice as I willed it even more finally reaching that power Atlas had given me.
I watched as the ice had finally solidified his bottom half and now was my chance to attack. But I was either too slow or not powerful enough because as he began to thrash around the ice cracked until it shattered. The ice chunks flew through the air, melting at the mere contact of the sun and falling like rain. This wasn't enough, we needed more than just Caleb and I fighting this bastard. I flew down to my friends and begged and pleaded for them to help. We needed a bigger distraction to take him out and we were not leaving until he was taken care of.
Noah was the first to jump back into the fight, followed by Devon and Hannah, blasting him with every kind of magic they had left in them. Finally as if worried about missing out on all the action the rest of the group joined in. Katie and Jade managed to summon an electrifying dark cloud with the help of Zeus, which Hannah and Casey countered with a blinding light that was sure to stun. That was our cue, Caleb and I exchanged looks, pushing against the atmosphere, flying full force towards the back of the puppets head. Aiming for the nape of the neck we drove our swords straight through. I created a strong fiery barrier around my sword which was embedded in its nape followed in suit by Caleb's own electrical current resulting in a massive explosion.
When it was all over and we could see again, we heard cheering below us. It was Naomi and some people from her tribe. We landed with the rest of our group and turned to face Naomi. "That was quite the battle!" she exclaimed. "We heard all the commotion and came out to investigate." She laughed, "You practically saved our lives!"
"We'd like to join you and your army!" A boy said stepping forwards. "We would stand by anyone who is as powerful as you guys!" he exclaimed. He walked over by the brother and sister from his tribe, and soon followed a group of them, about twenty to thirty or so. Naomi didn't look happy but she finally came to accept it as she nodded and receded. I smiled at Caleb and hugged him.
