The quarter reflected enchantingly in the street lights. In the road stands two androids, a male, and female. Their hands were touching, palms down, side by side as they rolled the coin across their knuckles in a constant seesaw motion. The RK800 model ended the streak and flicked the coin towards the RJ800, to which she caught it and immediately flicked it back. This went at an incredibly quick pace for a second or two before the female used her index and middle finger to catch the coin mid-air. This partner-ized coin calibration continued through their conversation.

"We cannot leave without Lieutenant Anderson. This has to be the place."

Connor turned his head, expression remaining determined. The calibration ceased as their objectives became active. He tucked the coin into his pocket.

"Out of the four bars we have checked, this is the next closest one to his current residence," Connor replied. Y/N nodded and faced the entrance, scanning the harsh "NO ANDROIDS" label smacked onto the door. Ignoring it for mission purposes, Connor swung open the door and held it open for his partner.

Immediately, the room fell eerily silent. It was clear that the situation would turn dark if their target was not located soon. Connor navigated his way through the slim bar and ended up on the opposite wall of the entrance, where the bathrooms were. Adjusting his tie and jacket to the perfection he desired, he smoothed his hair and turned around, only to run into Y/N.

"We have a mission, Connor. Your looks should be a minimal priority," Y/N scolded, brows slightly furrowed. Without having much of a personality, she was quick to change topics. "I have yet to scan the men at the bar itself and I would like for you to join me in the event in which one of them turns out to be the Lieutenant." They nodded in unison and took themselves right up to a shaggy old man. Clearing their throats grabbed the attention of the stranger. His hand was still on the glass but his head was partially facing the pair. Connor used his facial recognition and confirmed his identity.

That's him, Connor silently communicated through their software. The female android nodded and stepped forward.

"Hello. I am Y/N and this is Connor. We are androids sent by CyberLife.
Your colleagues and I had a difficult time locating you at the station, and they said you may be having a drink nearby. Lieutenant Hank Anderson, my partner and I have been assigned to locate you and solve an investigation," her voice was assertive and monotonous. "If you could come with us, that would be helpful."

"Why should I listen to Barbie and Ken?" He shot back. His speech was slurred and it was evident that there were copious amounts of various alcoholic drinks in his system. "Androids can do anything, why need a fuckin' human to do the work? If you two could kindly get the fuck out of here, that would help in the investigation."

"Lieutenant Anderson, our instructions were very clear that we must escort you back to the station," Connor stepped in. Anderson slowly faced forward, raising his drink to sip.

"Y' know where you can stick your instructions?" His laugh was hoarse and slightly giddy. "Now piss off, you pieces of plastic, I got a drink to finish." Y/N's face hardened at the uncooperative behavior. Having to prove her dominance, she took his shot glass and poured it to the floor, slamming it onto the table upside down.

"No more drink, no more time-wasting. I must insist for you to get up and come with us." In a drunken stupor, Anderson grabbed her arm, ready to treat her a lesson, but tore his grip away knowing it would not end well. With formerly red LEDs, the three uncomfortably sat in the non-autonomous vehicle and made their way back to the station. With Anderson driving and Connor in the passenger seat, Y/N was unfortunately stuck in the back, watching their heads bounce at every bump and crack in the road. It was not considered a surprise due to Hank's quickly-established disliking towards the woman.

"What kind of case did you rope me into?" Anderson sharply inquired, peering in the rearview mirror.

"Homicide," the duo answered at once. Connor was the one to continue. "An android was suspected to have committed the murder of Carlos Ortiz. Stab wounds and no clear entry or exit location. Whereabouts of the deviant are unknown."

The ride was short and cut to the chase. Outside the low-class home, reporters and authorities were crawling the perimeter. As the androids were reaching to unbuckle themselves, Hank held his arm in front of Connor's chest.

"Stay in the car, both of ya," he ordered. Obeying almost instantly, Connor folded his hands onto his lap and remained still. Y/N on the other hand shifted and reached for the handle.

"His instructions are fighting against our mission, Connor. Let's go." With that, she pushed open the door and stepped out, brushing down her jacket. The other android followed her trail shortly after. She picked up the Lieutenant's shape and followed him into the house silently. The smell of a rotting corpse burrowed its way into the nostrils of those who just entered.

With the investigation a current enigma, Hank couldn't help but watch as the two androids worked hand in hand, answering whatever the other one asked. He couldn't help but wonder if soulmates existed outside of the red-blooded species. After all, CyberLife covered it all.
