"Now Youngjae are you sure you want to go to the fair with me? You know you can just go with your other friends because I'm not really that special," Jaebum quietly spoke as he walked to the car with Youngjae. He was nervous and felt like he was forcing Youngjae to go with him. The younger however was confused on why the older was acting like this but decided to mess with Jaebum anyway.
"Well I guess if you really don't wanna go to the fair with me I'll just head back inside," Youngjae said as he turned around and headed back towards the house. A small, devious smile was planted on his pale face.
"NO!" Jaebum yelled and immediately regretted it. He didn't want to look needy so he quickly fixed his tone.
"I mean uh- no. I just feel like I'm forcing you to go to the fair with me and I dont want you to go just because I want you to," Jaebum nervously choked on his words as he spoke. What he said was true but it felt embarrassing to be saying them out loud.
"Hey," Youngjae walked over to Jaebum and placed a hand on his shoulder, "If I didn't want to come with you to the fair I would've never asked you," The younger assured which made Jaebum's face light up.
"WELL THEN LETS GET TO THE FAIR BAB- YOUNGJAE!" Jaebum excitedly cheered; while also mentally beating himself up. He couldn't believe he almost called Youngjae babe in his moment of happiness. He was praying that the younger hadn't noticed his almost slip up.
So off they headed in the car to the fair. The time they spent in the car together seemed to be first time both of them just let the past go. The two males just joked around and had a great time. Before they knew it the fair was already in their line of sight.
"Okay so how do we wanna do this?" Jaebum asked as they took off their seatbelts.
"Rides, games, and then food?" Youngjae asked which was followed by head nods that symboled agreement.
Jaebum and Youngjae got out of the car and walked to the ticket booth. After buying loads of tickets they headed off towards the many rides that were on the fair grounds.
It was crazy how both of them had a great love towards the more extreme rides considering how much they contrasted from each other. While Youngjae had a more sensitive appearance and a liking towarss bright, pastel colors, Jaebum looked more masculine and preferred dark colors.
Although they looked different from each other, that in the end was what brought them closer together. Their competing energies, love for good food and music are in the end what fueled their bond that in the past was broken.
Now however, what was once broken was now slowly being healed. A wilted flower was now blossoming once again. Youngjae noticed that Jaebum acted as if he had never changed. He was the exact same as before when they were still best friends. And maybe Jaebum being his best friend again wasn't a truly crazy idea.
It was almost midnight as Youngjae and Jaebum sat on the Ferris Wheel, enjoying the bright lights from the fair. There was a type of silence between them that wasn't at all awkward; in fact it was quite peaceful.
"Hey Jaebum," The older male turned his head to face Youngjae, who had just said his name.
"What is it?" Jaebum asked in a soft voice.
"Can we go back to being as close as we were before everything happened? I just really miss us," Youngjae questioned as he looked at the beautiful scenery in front of him. He however did not notice that Jaebum was looking at him instead of eveything else. Because in the older's eyes Youngjae was the beautiful scenery.
"Yes. I want that more than anything."
