Jaebum's eyes widened in shock because he didn't think Youngjae would accept his offer that easily without hesitation. Well, that's what it looked like at least, but in Youngjae's head, an alarm was sounding. The younger was panicking and his mind was running a mile a second. His heart was racing and he was praying that Jaebum couldn't heart the loud, rhythmic thump of his heart.
The older moved closer towards the frame of the door to let the younger in. Youngjae soon snapped out of his panicked thoughts and made his way inside. They both sat down in opposite chairs that faced each other. The silence was thick enough to cut, just like a plate of butter or cheese. Jaebum let out a deep sigh and brought a thumb and index finger to the bridge of his nose. He studied Youngjae as the younger examined the room he was in. The large chandelier hung from the top of the ceiling and the modern art that hung on the wall look to have cost a fortune. The older male let out a quiet, deep chuckle as he saw that Youngjae's mouth was slightly agape.
Youngjae after looking around for a good minute or so focused his attention back on Jaebum. He jumped slightly when he realized the gaze Jaebum had set upon him, it felt as if the older's two eyes were burning holes into him. Youngjae cleared his throat which caused the older male to start speaking.
"Look I know I probably seem crazy because of my offer, but trust me I have good reasoning for it," Jaebum tried to justify his actions, but Youngjae still felt skeptical. It felt as if this was all a trap that would screw Youngjae over again just like before in high school.
"What is your good reasoning for this huh? And why out of all people did you choose me?" Youngjae was slightly shaken up as he thought about the past and how it could easily repeat itself once again once if he did this. It was already too late though, he had already accepted Jaebum's offer at the door. He didn't want his parents to stress about him seeing that they were stuck in America, not by his side.
Jaebum took a deep breath before explaining his problems to Youngjae, "Okay here goes nothing. So my parents have been trying to force me to get married and have tried many times to do an arranged marriage. I'm gay, but both of them see it much more fit to marry a woman seeing that it was way more common and acceptable. They told me however that if I manage to find a guy and marry him then they will stop with the arranged marriages and dates."
"So that's where I come in?" Youngjae asked as he rested his hands in his lap.
"Yes that's exactly all that I need from you Youngjae," Jaebum stated as he leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees.
Out of nowhere Youngjae felt cocky and decided to try and make a big leap, "So what exactly is in it for me?"
"Well, if you agree to the terms I'll pay you, let you live here, and I won't press charges for last night," Jaebum said and Youngjae's interest was suddenly sparked.
"Wait, pay me?"
"Yes, I mean you would basically just treat this as a job, but a really simple job."
"Okay, so what am I supposed to do exactly as your 'husband' and 'maid'?" Youngjae questioned as he got more comfortable in the chair he was currently rested in.
"On days when we are out, there are parties, or family is over, you will pretend to be my husband. When stuff like that doesn't go on which is like every other day you will cook and clean, but that isn't much because I don't really ever make messes in the house. So it's really just cooking that you'll really have to do," Jaebum informed and watched as Youngjae thought to himself about the terms.
Jaebum got up from his seat and made his way over to Youngjae, which cause a feeling of nervousness to enter the younger's body. Youngjae gulped, but let out a sigh of relief when the older put his hand in front of him, motioning for him to shake it.
"Do we have a deal Mr.Choi Youngjae?" Jaebum asked with a slight smirk on his face.
Youngjae raised his hand and brought it to the older's.
"We have a deal Mr. Im Jaebum."
