It's been a week since Youngjae moved into Jaebum's house. And it wasn't as bad as the younger thought it would be, he never really had to clean and all he was doing is cooking. Youngjae couldn't help but think about how boring it was though. He never really did anything except work at his jobs and cook for the older. Yes, it was quite tiring, but it was as if he was a housemaid. Jaebum informed him that there would be a party later that night so he might as well relax and gain some energy. Apparently these types of parties "suck the life out of you".
It was almost 9 pm and Jaebum said they should go and buy rings for the party that Youngjae and he were to wear. If they were going to fake their love for each other they might as well play the part of being each other's fiances convincingly. So they both got into Jaebum's car and headed off to the mall in search of two rings that they would wear. When they got there they went to the jewelry shop and looked at rings. While Jaebum talked to the jeweler, Youngjae looked at the many rings that were on display. While looking, two rings, in particular, caught his eye. He stood in one place and stared at them with a little smile on his face.
They were both simple platinum rings, but there was this elegance that kept Youngjae from looking away.
Jaebum stopped talking to the man behind the cases of jewelry and looked in Youngjae's direction. He saw how the younger stared at two rings in general. The look on the younger's face made Jaebum smile. He had never seen the younger with a look like that on his face before. Jaebum walked behind Youngjae and caught sight of the two rings that had caught the younger's eyes.
"Do you like those rings?" Jaebum whispered softly into Youngjae's left ear.
A tingle went down the younger's spine when he felt the older's hot breath fan his ear. It caused Youngjae's heart to increase in its rate. He instantly shook away the feeling and gained some distance away from Jaebum.
"I don't know what you're talking about. Just pick some rings so we can get out of here," Youngjae stated before going to look at other pieces of jewelry in the store.
Jaebum let out a small chuckle and looked at more rings in the store before signaling the jeweler to come to him. When the man came over he put on a smile.
"How can I help you, sir?"
"Ah yes, I would like to buy these two rings right here," Jaebum said and pointed at two rings that were in the glass case.
"Okay, well I'll have them wrapped up for you," The jeweler said before heading to the back to get a bag and ring holder for Jaebum.
After getting the rings Jaebum called Youngjae and the two males headed out of the mall and back to the house. They were greeted by five stylists that were going to dress them. Youngjae let out a deep sigh before following two of the stylists into a room full of many clothes, shoes, and accessories.
"Wait, Youngjae!" Jaebum called out to the younger.
Before Youngjae could fully head into the dressing room he turned to look towards Jaebum. He raised his eyebrows to signal the older to continue with whatever he was about to say. Instead, Jaebum said nothing and tossed a small, black box towards the younger, who caught it with his two hands. With that the older male turned around and headed into his own dressing room, where he was also accompanied by two stylists.
When Youngjae sat down in a chair that was located in the dressing room he opened the small box and looked inside.
It was the ring that he had been looking at in the jewelry shop.
Maybe he isn't bad, maybe he has changed since high school.
No, it can't be, people can't change that much within a couple years.
Be careful, if you give him a chance to hurt you as bad as he did in the past, then he'll do it again.
