It's all my fault. I'm the one to blame because it was my dumb decision that ruined everything. In only a matter of moments I was able to shatter something so special into a million pieces. All of the trust, love, and friendship that once was present is now gone all because of me. I'm so stupid for hurting him; I didn't deserve him then and I truly don't deserve him now. He's an angel being used as a marionette doll by the devil.
"Why do you hang around that faggot anyway? Is he your boyfriend or something?" The older male choked on his water as a chorus of "oohs" filled the entire lunch room. Jaebum was currently being picked on for being friends with Youngjae.
"Shut up and don't call him that. He's my best friend and he's nicer than all of you combined," Jaebum fired back at all of the boys which caused them to erupt into laughter and more teasing.
"You're totally into that faggot dear lord! He's converting you into one of them isn't he? Tell me, did you guys fuck yet?" All the guys were practically dying of laughter while Jaebum was pissed. At any moment he felt as if he could beat up each and every one of them.
Jaebum was about to hit one of the guys, but before that could happen he heard a familiar, angelic voice behind him.
"Jaebum hyung!" Youngjae shouted as he speed walked towards the table Jaebum was sitting at with his food. The older male let out a small chuckle when he saw the goofy smile on Youngjae's face when he sat down.
"Hey what's up Youngjae?" One of the boys at the table asked.
"Nothing much! I'm trying to make some plans for tonight with hyung so we can watch movies!" The younger said with a very cheerful voice. The guys at the table started whispering and giggling with each other which confused Youngjae.
He leaned towards Jaebum to whisper something in his ear, "Hyung did I say something funny? They're laughing."Jaebum cleared his voice real loud which caused the other males at the table to turn dead silent. After that Youngjae continued to make plans for the movies with Jaebum. They had both decided to meet a couple hours after school at the movies.
The bell had soon rang symbolizing that it was almost time for next period. Youngjae packed up his stuff, said goodbye to Jaebum, and finally soon after left for his next class which was biology.
Youngjae for the rest of the day had a bright smile on his face because he couldn't wait to watch movies with his most favorite person in world; besides his parents of course.
"Are you really gonna go to the movies with that faggot Jaebum? I thought you were better than that honestly," Jackson said as Jaebum and him walked out of the school.
"I told you not to call him that," Jaebum said with anger present in his voice.
"Yeah yeah, whatever Jaebum. Just so you know Youngjae is the only reason why you're not popular. That's why the ladies never get anywhere near you; they all think you're gay man because of that flower boy," Jackson informed which caused Jaebum to stop in his tracks.
"What are you trying to say?" Jaebum asked which caused Jackson to internally smirk because he knew he got Jaebum's interest.
"Ditch him."
Jaebum's eyes widened; he couldn't do that to Youngjae. He couldn't hurt his best friend like that. Why was a small part of him wanting to not show up to the movies with Youngjae though? The older brunette male tried to shake that negative thought out of his mind, but he couldn't.
"I- I couldn't do that to him Jackson. He's an amazing person," Jaebum said with a numb feeling glazed over his hands.
"This is exactly why eveyone thinks you're gay man. You stick up for that fairy when you could be living the dream life!" Jackson exclaimed as he tilted his head up to look at the sky.
"FOR THE LAST TIME JACKSON I'M NOT GAY! I'M STRAIGHT!" Jaebum yelled which caused the blonde look at him with a "are you really tho?" look on his face.
" Then ditch him and come with me to the party at Mark's place tonight," Jackson said with a smirk.
"Okay I'll go."
That night was the first of many where Youngjae would be ditched by Jaebum for his new "friends". The younger male of course was hurt, but he wouldn't give up on his best friend. He still believed that Jaebum was a good person inside and out. Even though Jaebum was always "busy" he always made time to ask the older if he was doing okay.
Youngjae's pure heart would soon be destroyed as time went on. The constant ditching of plans soon turned into Jaebum outright ignoring Youngjae. The younger would lay in bed at night crying himself to sleep wondering what he did wrong. He truly believed that he had upset Jaebum and wanted to make up for it.
Youngjae had made the older food for lunch the next day and was happy because he believed Jaebum would no longer be mad at him. The younger ended up going home crying that day. Jaebum took one look at the lunch and threw it into the trash can right in front of Youngjae.
That was the last day the younger would make an effort to try to be around Jaebum. And that was the time where the bullying back up again as well. Now that Jaebum was gone he was the main target of everything negative at the place.
Then the one day that changed everything came. It was after school and Youngjae was walking home. He wanted to get there quicker so he decided to take the back alley. When he entered there were four boys leaning against the walls smoking. He thought he could pass by them, but he couldn't. The boys came towards him and he accidentally managed to tip one. The male who was tripped scoffed. One of the guys grabbed him by the collar and shoved him up against the wall; his elbows were digging into the brick wall which caused him to wince in pain.
"You're not so tough now that Jaebum's gone huh?" The males laughed at the younger when they saw the fear in his eyes.
"Please just let me go home," Youngjae begged with tears in his eyes.
"Hey guys look he's crying! How about we play a game guys? What do you think?" The males surrounding him all agreed and he explained the rules.
"Okay guys it'll go like this. If Jaebum lets us do whatever we want you're not getting out clean," This caused Youngjae to gulp in fear, "But, if he says to leave you alone we won't do anything and you can leave unharmed."
Youngjae's heart was pounding, fear was present in his body. He knew Jaebum wouldn't let that happen, he was a good person.
"HEY JAEBUM I NEED YOU!" The male yelled aloud and soon enough they all saw Jaebum turn the corner. When the older male saw Youngjae pushed up the wall his eyes widened, but only for a split second.
"Can we do what we want with him buddy?" The man asked with a wide smirk on his face. Jaebum froze in his place when he heard the question and the fear in the younger's eyes.
This could go two ways and he knew he would regret doing what he did, but right now his popularity was more important to him.
Not his best friend.
"Go ahead. It's not like I care anyway," Jaebum turned away and headed out of the alley way. Pain and sadness glazed over his eyes when he heard the younger cry out in pain.
Jaebum forever regretted that day. He could've been there for Youngjae; he could've saved him. Instead he screwed up and made a mistake he would never forget and always regret. This decision would haunt him in his sleep and follow him where ever he went. He knew he deserved it because it was all his fault. And all he could do was blame himself.
