VI. Lies

Talia

"Here you are." Elijah says as we pulled up to Hank's home. I turned to him with sad eyes.
He tilted his head and lifted my head up with his hand resting on my cheek.
"What's wrong?" He asked with his normal professional tone.

"Today just didn't go as expected. I'm 28 and I know I should always know that things aren't going to go the way they always do, but this was different. I'm talking too much." I stopped myself from going on.
He stared into my eyes with a desire of some sort.

Narrator

Elijah stared into Talia's eyes with desperation to smash his mouth on hers. He knew it wasn't going to happen. Even if it does, this isn't the time for it. They've only known each other for 2 days anyways.
"Goodnight Talia. Come visit when ever you'd like. I'm always open for you." He winked instead and let go of her face. Elijah waits outside until she's inside. When Hank opens the door he instantly takes Talia into a hug.

"Tal, I haven't heard from you all day. Where the fuc-" Hank stopped talking when he saw Elijah sitting in his car. Elijah waved to Hank and pulled out of the driveway.
"I forgot you were with him. I can tell you were crying. What happened?"

"Dad, I told you I was going to see Mom this morning and last night." Talia rolled her eyes and walked inside with her dad.

Elijah spent the rest of his night driving back home. "She's special." He whispered to himself as he sat in silence.

Talia

"I'm heading out dad!" I called out through the house. He never responded so I'll just send him a text instead. I'm gonna go see Elijah again. There's nothing better for me to do anyways. I could go help my dad at work, but Elijah is more interesting.
Another long car ride, another fantastic day.
"All my life been hustling, and tonight is my appraisal!" I sing out and bang on the steering wheel. I'm not gonna be depressed anymore. My whole life I've been stepped on and used. Not anymore boo! I'm here to live. When people piss me off I'm not gonna hesitate to show it. I'm gonna be the biggest bitch you've ever met in your life If you fuck with me.

Narrator

"Hello, Tal." Kamski greeted me at the front door for once. "I expected you to come again." He smiled and led Talia into the main room. His place is still beautiful and You've only seen 3 rooms inside.  "Can I tell you something I've noticed for the last couple days?"

"Shoot, I'd love to hear it." Talia smiled and encouraged him to go on. She hasn't been in the greatest mood recently...

"You are so... Exotic. You have this vibe about you that makes me want to be somebody I've never been before. You're fragile because you've been damaged, but at the same time you're strong and powerful. I've never met somebody quite like you before." Kamski beamed and takes Talia's head in his hands. He stared into her eyes but sighed instead of doing what he wanted to do.

"Th-Thank you." She stuttered out. She hasn't been complimented that mildly before. She felt like flying. Why did this one man have such an impact on her now. He's proper, funny, kind, and well... Many other things.

"You're welcome, beau-Talia." He struggled in mid-sentence like he always does with her.
She hugs Elijah and puts her head against his chest. Elijah stood shocked and didn't know what to do. Finally he fell into the hug and rested his head on hers.

"Mister Kamski, you have a visitor. They say it's urgent." Chloe butts in on the perfect moment. Talia retracted from the hug and watched Elijah walk with his hands behind his back. She didn't know if she should follow him, or stay behind. She tapped her foot on the ground and just watched from the other room through the door.

Talia

"Hello, Elijah. We're looking for a girl by the name of, Talia Dawn Anderson." A woman's voice sounded from the door. I couldn't see what she looked like, but I knew she was in some organization.

"I'm sorry, she's not here. Did you check her work area?" Kamski lies for me... Does he know why they're here? I'm actually fucking terrified. Who the hell wants me?

"Yes, we asked her father and he said she's probably here." The woman answers again. I've never felt more horrified or confused In my life. I watched Kamski whisper something to Chloe and her nodding in response.

"Go get me some water Chloe." Elijah says as if it was some sort of code between the two. She walks out of the room and looks me in the eyes.

"I've been ordered to hide you. Come with me please." She takes my arm in hers and starts to walk off. She moved a bed in the spare room and lifts up a rug, then the floor board. A ladder presented itself and led down to another area. "Go down, i just turned On the lights. Nothing bad is down there." I climb down the ladder and see dissembled androids.
Chloe closed the hole and waved me goodbye.

I traced around the room and looked at all the androids that no longer worked. I looked to one in particular. They still looked like they were in working condition.
"Where the fuck is she Kamski!?" The woman's voice rang through the room above
Me. I could hear his mumbles before a loud crash happened. I wanted out, I wanted to help. What he fuck is happening?

Narrator

"I don't know!" He continued to lie for Talia. The woman held a gun in her hands that was pointed directly at Elijah's forehead.
"Listen, Talia isn't here. She was, but she's not anymore. She said she had things she had to do today." The woman was hesitant to believe his lies. She shot the ground as a warning to Kamski. He was going to protect Talia with his life. He didn't know exactly why, but that was the person he felt he had to be right now.
"Listen, you can kill me all you want, you still won't get the information you need by doing that." Kamski shrugged and became calm. He needed to recollect himself if he wanted to live and protect Talia.

"Maybe, but I'll get the second part of my mission done." The woman lifts the gun back to Elijah's head. Talia climbed up the ladder and listened into the conversation.
"Now, where the fuck is she?"
Kamski sighed and looked to Chloe with determination.

"I've already told you, I don't know." After Elijah stopped talking, Chloe charged at the woman, knocking the gun out of her hand. Elijah grabs the gun and tucks it into his robe. The android and the girl fight until Chloe finally takes the woman down for good.
