Sun painted the room and my skin as I awoke. I turned to Elijah with sleep still in my eyes. I've never felt so... Different lying in his bed like his before. "You do this every morning." Elijah sighed and opened one eyes. I giggled and snuggled up next to him.
From what I've seen, Elijah is a snuggly bitch when it comes to me. Other than that, he's a proper man who will fight you if he has too.
"Maybe because you're cute with your beard." I brushed through his small scruff me had with my fingernails. He smiled and gazed into my eyes with some sort of love.
Elijah wraps his arms around me and pulls me even closer to himself. He's never truly snuggled me before and I definitely cannot say I hated it.
His hand lifted to my face and pushed away strands on hair.
If this was how we were going to spend our mornings every time, I'm going to love it.

Elijah had agreed to taking me around town. I knew he wasn't one to be in public, but he's risked it a couple times for me.
"Hey, Eli!" A girl waved to him as we walked past each other. I turn up to him with a raised eyebrow.
"Who was that?" Elijah turned back to the blond haired woman and shook his head. I rolled my eyes and we continued to walk around.
It made me feel severely uncomfortable when people, especially girls, would wink and wave to Elijah as we walked in and out of stores. I knew Elijah wasn't just anyone, but he had barely been out and he doesn't have social media as far as I know. "Detective!" I heard a familiar male voice call from behind me. Connor. "I can't find your father. He has been absent all day from work. And the last time I was with him he seemed unhappy." My heart sunk. What if he had done something? Elijah grips my hand and looks down to me with worry. I knew he wasn't upset about my dad because they didn't have the best relationship, but he was worried for me.
Connor leads us back to the house and tried to open the door. Once he found the door was locked, he walked over to the same exact window Kara had broke. He smashed it open and rolled onto the floor inside.
Hurried footsteps walked inside the house until my front door opened for me to be facing Connor.
Me and Elijah step inside and smell the pungent whiff of alcohol. That's when I saw him. He laid on the ground with a bottle and a loaded gun In his hands.
We watched as Connor awoke him with hard slaps to the face. Hank ordered Sumo to attack Connor, but I quickly intervened. I walk into the bathroom where my father laid inside the bathtub, drenched in cold water and bourbon.
"Dad, what're you doing!?" I asked and knelt down to the ground. He scoffed and slumped down into the bathtub.
"Talia, you made it pretty fucking clear you hate me. Why are you here?" I grasped my dads hand and placed it against my forehead.
"Dad, I will never not love you. You raised me and made me who I am today. I thank you for helping me and doing shit for me when nobody else cared enough. Don't ever take my words seriously when it comes to that shit." I closed my eyes as my dad kept his hand still.
"I love you too Tal." He sighed and pulled me into somewhat of a hug. Now I was destined to be wet as well. Fantastic. "Where's your boyfriend?" Hank asked as Connor helped him up. Right as boyfriend came out of Hank's mouth, my heart blew up. I watched as Connor turned to me with a yellow LED. Bitch.
"He left the room only seconds ago." Connor informs us and helps Hank walk into the living room. I watched Elijah pace in the front room with his phone to his ear. What kind of business did he get himself into?
He hangs up the phone and takes my face in his hands. He pulls me up and pushed himself down until our lips connected. "I have business I have to take care of. Take care of your old man while I deal with work shit." He kissed me once more. I nod sadly and watch him walk to the door.
I blow him a kiss and see him grab it.
"What the fuck he doing?" My dad asked as he switched on the tv. I shrugged and walked over to the couch.
"He's not very open about his business." I shrugged and gave a sad smile. "I wish he was though. I wanna know what's so goddamn important." I sighed.
———
My dad had fallen asleep and I was left with Connor who was staring blankly at a wall. "What're you doing?" I asked him and threw popcorn in my dads lap. Connor turns to me and shakes his head.
"I'm reprogramming certain areas of my progress." I raised an eyebrow but shrugged it off. He's fucking weird.
I was about ready to just get up and somehow get home before I remembered I have something called a cell phone.
"Elijah?"
"Who's this?" A woman's voice spoke over the phone. I rolled my eyes and checked my pulse quickly.
"My name is Talia fucking Anderson." I pronounce the f loudly.
"And I'm Elijah's girlfriend."
"Sorry! I'll get him on right away." I sighed softly at the thought of Elijah pushing the woman away and telling her I'm his girlfriend.
"Hey, Tal." His answered with an annoyed voice. Connor comes over and sits next to me.
"Where are you?"
"Working." He answered subtly.
"When are you going to be done working?" I asked. "Or should I just stay the night at my dads?"
"Stay tonight with your dad. He needs you there with him."
"Okay. I'll see you later." I hung the phone up and looked to my dad.
"I can sense the feeling of love and anxiety." Connor whispers to me. I turn to him and leaned my head back into the couch. "Is everything okay, Natalia?" I turned away from him and thought of what to say.
"My name is Talia. And no, everything is not okay." I lean against my dad and pulled the blanket over both of us. "Night Connor."
