I stared at him, with fear slowly creeping in to my system. I knew I shouldn't have messed with him... because something about him screamed danger. And I didn't want danger. I just wanted a peaceful life with my family and Jasper.

Yet seeing his face made me lose control.

Like I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing me defeated.

"Are you threatening me?" I asked, my jaw clenched.

"I don't do threats, Maggie," he said, his face now calmed down. The situation turned around fast. I didn't know how he's playing this game, but he's got the control. Again.

God, I should've just shut up! I shouldn't have triggered this monster! I should've known that nothing good could ever come with dealing with him! He's a Ramirez, for God's sake!

"I make promises," he continued, smiling.

"If you dare touch me—"

He quickly cut me off. "No, of course I wouldn't dare."

And my jaw quickly dropped, and fear crept into my system upon the realization. "Just leave Jasper out of this!" I almost shouted. Wala na akong pakielam kung sino pa ang makakita o makarinig sa amin. Hadn't he done enough?! He already sent Jasper to the hospital! Wala namang ginagawa sa kanya iyong tao! Ano ba talaga ang problema niya?!

"Oh, but he's right in the center of this," he said.

Nagsimula na siyang maglakad, pero mabilis akong sumunod sa kanya. I saw my Abuela's approving look. She must be thinking that I was doing her bidding, that I was getting close to this devil. Kung alam niya lang kung ano ang tumatakbo sa isip ko!

"Justin!" sigaw ko habang sinusundan siya pababa sa hagdan. "Kinakausap kita, ano ba!" sigaw ko dahil hindi siya humihinto.

Ugh! He's the one who started this! Tapos biglang ayaw niyang makipag-usap!

"You fucking spawn from—" Natigil ako sa pagsasalita nang makita ko si Evan. My thoughts about killing Justin quickly disappeared. Mabilis akong lumapit kay Evan. I hadn't seen him for a few days since Jasper got hospitalized. I'd been meaning to see him, but Kellan said na even him hindi niya nakikita si Evan. I guess it had slipped from my mind.

"Hey," I said. "Are you alright?" I asked. Of course, he's Jasper's friend... or maybe best friend? I just couldn't really understand the relationship between the two of them. It seemed a bit more complicated, and right now, I couldn't deal with complicated.

He nodded. "Why are you still talking to him?" tanong niya sabay tingin sa pintuan na nilabasan ni Justin.

Gosh. He's seen it.

"Please don't tell Jasper," I begged. "He already told me to stay away from him..."

"Then why don't you ever listen?" Evan shot back.

I wanted to.

So bad.

But how could I ignore Justin when he's threatening Jasper? Should I just pretend that everything's fine? And if something happens? Paano ako?

I looked at Evan, pondering if I should tell him... maybe I should. Kilala niya si Jasper. Alam niya kung ano ang dapat gawin. And I knew that I couldn't do this by myself. I needed everyone's help.

So, after sighing, I began to tell him everything including the threat that Justin just gave me.

"Do you think he's serious?" I asked, really worried. I dug a little about Justin's family, and I didn't like what I saw. If his brother managed to evade all charges against a rape case where the evidence clearly points at him, what more do I expect?
