"JJ, are you listening?" I asked him as I watched him playing with his breakfast. Pagkatapos kong umiyak kagabi, JJ cuddled with me until we both fell asleep... And when we woke up, tahimik na siya... I was worried. Addie was right... it wasn't good for JJ to see his parents fighting... Kahit pa ba hindi kami nagsisigawan ni Jasper, it was still evident that something was wrong between us...

"Yes, Mommy..." he sadly answered.

I sighed as I brushed his hair from his forehead. "JJ..."

He looked at me. "Let's go home, Mommy."

Umawang ang labi ko. "W-What?"

Ibinaba niya iyong kutsara at saka humarap sa akin. "Let's go back."

I could feel my heart's beat steadily rising as I stared at him. JJ looked so sad. And it broke my heart to see him like this. He's a happy boy. Kahit kaming dalawa lang ang magkasama, palagi siyang masaya. He always try to find the best in every situation... And it's wrecking me to see him so down like this.

"But you haven't met your Uncles yet."

He smiled. "Maybe next time, Mommy. Or maybe they can visit us."

I wanted to ask him what happened nung pinakilala siya ni Jasper kina Helene... but last night was too much for me... I just kept on crying until I couldn't anymore. Maybe I should just held it all in... pero hindi ko magawa. Seeing Jasper... and knowing that we couldn't be together anymore? That hurt me.

It's still hurting me.

I long for the time when I could just all look back at this and be glad that it's over.

"JJ..." I said, sighing. "If it's because of last night, your Dad and I are okay."

"But you were crying."

"It's normal to cry."

Umiling siya. "You only cry when you're hurt."

"You can also cry when you're happy," I said.

"Are you happy, Mommy?"

Umawang ang labi ko. "I'm... I'm happy," I said, forcing a smile.

"Liar," he said, then went back to his breakfast.

Ayoko na magalit siya kay Jasper. Kung anuman ang problema namin ni Jasper, sa aming dalawa lang iyon. Alam ko... Alam ko maaayos pa namin ni Jasper iyon... In time, we'd be okay... pero iyong sa kanila ni JJ? It's difficult. Mas mahirap kapag nagalit si JJ sa kanya. And I didn't want that to happen. Jasper deserves JJ, and JJ deserves Jasper.

Muli kong sinubukan na kausapin si JJ, pero hindi niya na ako pinapansin. The whole morning, I just kept on trying to talk to him, but it felt like the topic was already done for...

"What's drama queen's problem?" Addie asked as we watched JJ stare seriously at the TV kahit na comedy iyong pinapanood niya. Nalulungkot ako kapag ganito siya... I'd rather be the one who's sad than him.

"Stop calling him drama queen, Addie," I said.

"Fine. Geez, pareho kayong bad mood," she said, raising her hands. "But really, what's up? The mood here's so heavy."

Even though I knew what Addie would tell me, I still told her what happened last night. I should've been more careful... I should've made sure that JJ wouldn't hear the two of us arguing.

"You know..." Addie said when I finished. "Just tell him what happened, Maggie. Just because you explained doesn't mean that you'll take him away from Miss-What's-Her-Face."
