Today was different for Tony. Usually Stephen would be home, researching, but he actually left the house for once and there was silence, and a file opened on his desk. It was worry some, but maybe the fresh air would be good for Stephen, Tony decided in his head.
All the man seemed to focus on anymore was treatments and raking up money for surgeries that would put him further towards rock bottom. It hurt.
It may sound selfish of him, but Tony wished he realized the life he had outside of medical work.
But it just didn't seem to be enough.
Stephen must have left early, because before Tony knew it the front door swung open to a bewildered Stephen. All he could hear him mutter about was "Kamar-Taj." And getting together more money.
Tony so badly wanted to say something, but after their argument last night, he knew he deserved an apology first.
Tony would later regret that decision immensely.
