Love with a curse (A Laurex Fanfic)

Chapter Twenty Six

"Alex! Haven't seen you in a while." Kyle said casually.

"Yeah man, where you been?" Alex and Kyle went in for a bro hug.

"Mainly with Mia, you know. I heard about the whole Wassabi Productions thing." Kyle's smile turned to a frown.

"Nah man, it's all good." Alex shrugged it off. "So, how's the job?"

"I..uh..I don't got one unfortunately." Kyle said sadly.

An idea sparked in my mind, "Do you still film?"

"Yes, why?" He asked.

"Well why don't you come work for me? And help me film my videos." I suggested.

"That would be great, thanks Lauren." He smiled again.

"No problem."

"Hey, so where's the cake?" He asked eagerly.

"Oh I uh don't know. I'll be right back." I walked off to find my mom.

"Hey mom!" I yelled across the room where tables were surrounding it.

"Yes hun?" She yelled back.

"Is the cake ready?" I yelled, making my way towards her.

"Um I don't know. You're going to have to go ask Lilli." She replied.

"Lilli is in charge of the cake?" I asked suspiciously.

"Yes hunny." She said and I walked into the mini kitchen upstairs.

"Lilliana? Are you here?" I asked.

"Lauren!" Lilliana jumped in excitement.

"I haven't seen you in a long time sis," I chuckled.

"I'm glad your friends flew dad and I out here," She smiled.

"Me too. So is the cake almost ready?"

"Yeah it's ready, but no one has told me to bring it out yet."

"Oh, you can bring it out now. I'll round up everyone." I left the kitchen and went downstairs where everyone was.

"You shouldn't be moving that much in a wedding dress." Alex said in my ear behind me.

"Don't worry, I have another dress I'm going to change into." I turned around and flung my arms around his neck.

"So What's the plan?" He asked.

"Dinner-which we've already had. Cake-which is coming out now. And dancing." I explained.

"Dinner was good. Your dads a great cook." Alex admitted.

"Yeah he is, it's weird because I didn't even know that until now." I chuckled.

"Well why don't you get changed into that more comfortable dress and I'll help get everyone ready?" Alex suggested.

I laughed, "It's not necessarily more comfortable, it's just a wedding dress that's shorter."

"Even better," he bit his lip.

"You're so obvious," I teased and walked into the editing room where my other dress was.

I got changed quickly and laid my long dress gently into the bag and set it carefully in the convenient closet. I walked out and saw everybody lining up by the cake table, waiting for me to come and cut a slice with Alex. I made my way to the table and threw an arm around Alex's waist and he did the same. My mom came out of the crowd with a camera.

"Okay, go ahead and cut it," She said as she pointed the camera towards Alex and I.

"Go ahead, love birds, I'm hungry for desert!" Grayson yelled from the crowd.

"I am too!" Ethan yelled along with his brother.

"You ready?" I quietly asked Alex.

"Yup." Alex grabbed my hand and we cut into the cake together. I grabbed the slice and and put it on the plate.

"WOO! It's about time, this little brown girl is aching for some cake!" Liza yelled with one hand in the air and one hand around David. David just laughed at her silliness.

"It's now time for the bride and groom to have their first dance as newlyweds." Aaron said through the microphone.

"Awww." The crowd said.

I rolled my eyes and held out my hand for Alex to take and onto the dance floor. "You sure chicken nugget?"

"Of course, besides we have no choice," I giggled. 

Alex and I took each other's hand and danced slowly to "Thinking out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. For the time being, it felt so surreal. Like all the time in the world stopped and it was just us dancing. We were gliding along the dance floor. Until someone lost control of Moose and he came and hopped on us. We both tumbled back slightly and laughed.

"Moose!" I laughed.

He just sat down in Alex's lap and didn't move. Alex was laughing hysterically along with the rest of the crowd. Serena and Lilliana came out and helped us up asking if we were okay. We both brushed it off and said we were fine. 

Soon enough, Alex and I were giving Moose some love and everyone else was dancing on the dance floor. Rena and Aaron were dancing goofily to the current Shawn Mendes song playing. Liza and David were dancing together. Alex's mom and dad were dancing together. Lilli and my dad were having their father daughter dance, and of course I was next. Ethan and Grayson were giggling and being goofs out there dancing with each other. Vanessa was dancing with Roi. My mom was sitting in a chair watching everybody.

"Hey mom." I walked over to her.

"Hey hun. They all look happy don't they?" She said looking off into the distance.

"They do...are you not happy?" I asked.

"Of course I am, I'm very happy. I just feel like you deserved a better mom." Tears were drizzling down her cheek.

"Don't say that mom, please. I mean, yeah, we've definitely had our ups and downs but now is now and I'm glad you're doing better now. And I'm incredibly happy that you're here," I sat down comforting her.

"Thanks Lauren." She said sincerely.

"Yup."

My mom volunteered to hold Moose so Alex put him in her hands and we went to dance with everyone. Dad and I got a dance and Alex and his mom got a dance. The rest of the night was filled with fun activities and dancing. Everybody left except Alex, Ethan, Grayson, and I. We offered to help them clean up since it was their warehouse and we kind of trashed it.

It took us two hours but we got everything cleaned up. I hugged Ethan and Grayson goodbye and went home to the new house with Alex and Moose.

Finally, we were home and everything felt right. I had Alex for the rest of my life. I was reconnected with my family for the first time in forever. Baz was out of my life. And I had some of the greatest friends in the world who would do anything for me, and I was gaining some more. There was nothing else in the world that I could ask for.  

I snuggled into bed with Alex and Moose by our feet. What a day. And there's so much more to come, who knows what the future holds for us but this right now, this is what I needed.

MAJOR time jump coming your way. So guys I did some thinking...and now I know for sure how I'm going to end this story. I've already got the outline of it done. So I'm not giving hints because it might come out today...who knows🤷‍♀️. Chapter Twenty Eight is the last chapter, hope you guys are as hyped as I am!! Okay bye guys, love you❤️
