"Lauren I know you pushed him away, wh-why did you go meet him in he first place?" He asked.
"He sounded...different, like he's in a dark, depressed place right now." I wiped my tears. "I just wanted to help him, that's all I wanted to do."
"I know." Alex came no closer to me. He just sat there trying to process things.
"Baby I would never hurt you. I love you too much." I told him truthfully.
At that point he saw the pain and worry in my eyes and came and sat next to me on the ground. "The only way you could possibly hurt me is if you left me." He pulled me in tight.
"I'm never going to leave you Alex." I let him hold me. We just sat there like that for a couple more minutes then I got the courage to ask what's been running through my mind. "Why'd you follow me though?"
"I actually wasn't following you. To be clear, I didn't even know where you were going because you never told me. I just went to the cafe to pick up some dinner because apparently you texted Liza, David, Serena, Grayson, and Ethan to come over and they texted me to get dinner so that's what I did." He explained. "Then I saw you with Will and I got nosy and saw what happened. I saw everything. I tried to run back to get you but you took off. After I couldn't see you anymore I turned around and beat the shit out of Will. I don't think we'll be hearing from him for a while."
I started crying again just thinking about it. "I just lost my best friend."
"I know..." Alex looked up at the ceiling signaling that he was thinking about Roi. "But we'll," he caught himself. "I mean you'll get through this. Just think. You have Aaron, Serena, Liza, Mia, David, Grayson, Ethan, Roi, and me." He smiled preciously.
"Oh god, I just love you so much." I said gazing into his eyes. There was no way I deserved him, I don't know how I got so lucky.
"I love you too." He tightened his hold around me. "Now let's get dinner ready for some guests!" I said, not even realizing that he came in with bags.
"Crap!" I yelled as I got up.
"What? What is it!"
"We have to get the venue ready!"
"Don't worry I got Aaron on that duty. He said he wasn't doing anything lately and he'd be down to do it." Alex slowed his breathing, realizing that nothing was really the matter.
"But what about the decorations?" I yelled, obviously still in panic.
"Serena's on that." He rolled his eyes. "Apparently working on our wedding was a perfect way for Aaron and Serena to get some quality time together. Although I don't know why that time has to be spent planning when it can be spent-" I cut him off before he could go on.
"Because they're weirdos. Just accept it." I giggled.
"But who doesn't want to spend that time doing you know what." He raised his eyebrow playfully.
"Me. Well not when you're acting like this at least." I teased.
He came up behind me and grabbed my waist. "I hate planning. Don't you?"
I spun around and flung my arms around his neck. "I sure do. Why does the wedding have to be so close?"
"Well mainly because of my parents and well maybe I just want to marry you so badly." He bit his lip.
I gasped. "Is my chicken tender getting sexual?"
"Oh no babe, I'm saving that for later." He smiled.
"Good, because my friends are coming over." I stroked his cheek and walked away teasingly.
He chuckled a little bit in disappointment. "So Liza and David have been together for how long now?"
