I woke up to my phone ringing. "Hello" I said sleepy. "Hey, it's Lena. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight." She said. "Yes, i would like that." Still sleepy. "Kara did you just wake up?" She laughed. "Maybe." I said looking at the time. It was 12:30pm, oh Rao. "Okay, well i was thinking dinner and a movie at my place." She said. "Sure, i will see you tonight" I said. "Alright, see you tonight at 6pm." She said. Wait i didn't even know where she lived. I've never even been to her apartment before. We would always hang out here. "Wait Lena. What's your adress? I've never been to your apartment before." I said. "Oh, right i forgot. I'll send you a text." She said. "Okay, see you tonight Lena." I said before hanging up. I internally screamed.
I have been looking at the clock. Time doesn't seem to pass. I tried killing time by going to the DEO but it was quiet in the city. Finally it turned 6:00. I flew out of the apartment and made it there as quick as i could. I pulled my clothes straight and walked in to the building. I took the elevator to the top floor. I was curious to see Lena's apartment. I imagine it to be modern. When the elevators door opened i made my way to door. I couldn't help but pick up loud talking, almost screaming really, with my super hearing. I was about to knock on the door, when someone opened the door. "Kara?" James said. "I uh can come back some other time." I said. "No, i was just leaving." James said angry. He walked passed me to the elevator. I looked at him before i went inside and closed the door. I looked at Lena confused. "What's going on, are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah, it's fine Kara." She said. "Do you want me to leave." I said. "No!" She screamed. "No, please would you stay." She said this time polite. "Of course." I said. I walked over to the couch she was sitting at and sat down. I pulled her in a hug and she started crying silently. I didn't say anything. I looked around her apartment. It looked different than i had expected. It didn't look as white as i had thought. In fact, it was quite colorful. She had colors on her walls and a lot of art. It felt warm. "I'm sorry i didn't mean for you to walk in on that." She said. "You know you can talk to me right." I looked at her. She nodded. "It's hard." She said. "When i'm done with paperwork in the evening James goes off playing hero. We never really get to spend together you know. It creates tension." She said. That's something i understood more then enough. There have been so many times i had to leave and disappoint people because i am supergirl. I couldn't tell Lena that of course. "I'm sure you will figure it out somehow." I said. I felt guilty. Some part of me didn't want them to figure it out. I know it's hurting Lena and of course i don't want that but i didn't want James with Lena. I wanted her to be with me. "I know it's stupid. James is saving people life's out there." Lena said. "You don't have to feel bad about that, Lena." I said. I know that wasn't going to make her feel any better. I just didn't even know what to say to her. She got up and looked at me. "Sorry, i didn't make any dinner." She said. "Lena, don't worry about that. We can just order something." I said. "Well i already bought the ingredients, i thought we could just make it right now. It's lasagna." She said. Oh Rao, she knows i love lasagna. "Sure, i love cooking!!" I said sarcastically. She laughed. "Yeah, we should probably leave the cooking to me." She said as she walked to the kitchen. I sit down at the kitchen on a stool. "Do you mind cutting the unions and garlic for me?" She asked. "Sure." I said. I stood next to her and she give me a knife. One thing i could do is chop things. I was done cutting the unions and put it in the bowl so Lena could use them. "Wow! What does it take for you to cry! Not even unions!!" She said. I laughed nervously. Things like unions don't really effect Kryptonians. I started cutting the garlic. "Well i guess that confirms you're not a vampire either." She said playfully. We laughed. Oh Rao, that smile. I sat back down and watched her cook. I loved watching her cook. She looked so peaceful right now. Although, her eyes looked puffy from the crying. It honestly just made her eyes more green then i have ever seen, they were almost blinding. I guess she noticed my staring because she was waving at me. "Hello? You there, oh hi." She said. "Sorry, i was just thinking about something." I said and blushed. "What's been on your mind." She said. "Oh, just thinking about something at work." I said uneasy. "Everything okay at work." She said. "Yes, it's been fine. Nothing has been really going on i guess. Nothing big anyways." I said. "Everything okay at L-corp?" I asked. "Oh, you know just usual stuff." She said. "The other day Supergirl stopped by." She said. "Oh really? What did she want." I said. "She thought i had something to do with that guy that shot her. Which isn't true obviously." She said. "She's been on my nerves lately. It's like she's looking for something to make me look bad." She said. "I'm sure she had her reason to ask you." I said. I looked at the kitchen counter to scared to face her. She noticed that i was slightly uncomfortable. "Sorry, i know you guys are kind of friends." She said. Luckily the conversation was interrupted by the oven. Lena took it out of the oven and put it on two plates. She gave me one plate and sat across from me. I took a bite. "Urghh, it's so good." I said. She grinned. I looked around while i was eating. "I like your apartment it's cozy." I said. "Thanks, Kara." She smiled. "I expected it to be like modern high tech." I said. "God, no, it's already like that in my office all day. Something less white and formal is nice for a change." She said. "Right, you have a point." I said. I wondered why she never brought me here before. Maybe she just likes to keep these things private. Either way it's nice to see where she lives finally. I imagine she does not spend that much time here since she's usually working late. I help her clean the dishes. When we are finished it was already pretty late so i was going home. "Thanks for dinner, Lena." I said. "Thanks for staying." She said. I gave her a hug and left.
I went back to my apartment to find Alex. "Alex what are you doing here." I said. "It's Tuesday remember." She said while she drank her beer shady. "Oh shit! I'm so sorry Alex. Lena asked if i wanted to come over for dinner. I just got so excited that i totally forgot! Please forgive me." I said. "It's okay, how was dinner." She said. "It was fine, except the part where James literally stormed out of there when i arrived there." I said. "Anyways, we talked and made dinner." I said. "You mean Lena made dinner." Alex chuckles. "I chopped the unions!!" I said in defense. "She told me about supergirl. She's still upset with me." I said looking down. "I'm sorry i made you do that." Alex said. "But you're taking this way too personal." She said. "Is this maybe because of your little crush?" Alex said. "No, i don't have a crush on her. We are just friends." I said. "Then why are you blushing." She said. "You don't have to be ashamed of having a crush on her, Kara." She said. I looked down. "It doesn't matter. Lena is with James." I said. "So you do like her." Alex said. "Yes."
