Chapter 9

It must have been an hour. The doctor came back. This must mean Lena didn't give him what he wanted yet. I was happy about that but at the same time he was going to hurt me again. Two other guys soon followed him into the room. "Looks like Lena has agreed to meet us." He said. He ordered the others to take me to the car. They took me but this time without force. They took me to a black car and opened the door to the backseat.

About 20 minutes later we arrived at our destination. I heard people arguing outside. "We want to see her first!" I heard someone say. The door opened and someone pulled out of the car. I fell on the ground. They dragged me back up. Across from us were people in black suits and guns. They were DEO agents. I saw Alex standing with them. She looked concerned. Alex nodded to the SUV in the back. The door opened and Lena stepped out of the car with a briefcase. "I will give you the kryptonite but you have to let Kara go first." Lena said. "Do you think we are stupid? First the kryptonite, then you get your precious Kara." The doctor said. "No that wasn't the deal." Alex said. He pulled his gun out and put it against the back of my head. "The kryptonite first or i'll kill her!" He screamed. I closed my eyes. Was this going to be the end. "Okay! Just put the gun down." Lena screamed. Lena shove the briefcase to the doctor. He put his gun away and opened it. His face was lit up by green light. He reached for his knife and walked back to me. I started to panic. He cut my restraints and pushed me forward. "Slowly." He said. I was almost at Alex's side when he pulled out his gun. I heard a gunshot and fell on the ground out of shock. I heard several gunshots. Then it stopped. "Kara!" Alex screamed. I looked up. "Are you okay?" She said. I nodded. She pulled me in a tight hug. "I was so worried." She said. I looked back and saw the doctor laying dead on the ground. Alex helped me back up. I was just on my feet when someone hugged me, which made me fall over almost. It was Lena. "I'm so sorry Kara." She said. She was crying. "It's okay, i'm okay." I said. She finally let go of me and blushed. "We should get you cleaned up." Alex said.

Alex made sure i was okay and after a lot of arguing she let me go home with Lena. At Lena's apartment i first took a shower. Alex had cleaned up most of the blood but there was still blood in my hair. I looked in the mirror. If this wasn't going to leave a scar, it would be a miracle.

After my shower i went back to the living room. It was completely dark in here. I couldn't help but think of the darkness in the cell. I turned on a light and walked to the kitchen. Where was Lena? I took some water and went back to the living room. "Lena?" I said. No response. "Lena?!" I said louder this time. "I'm here." Lena said. She was standing in the door of her bedroom. "Sorry did i wake you." I said. "No, i wasn't sleeping." She said. Both of us didn't say anything. I sighted. "I'm going to bed, Alex told me to rest." I walked back to my bedroom and closed the door. I lay down on the bed and looked at the ceiling. I can't believe that i got kidnapped for kryptonite. Lena's kryptonite wasn't just hurting kryptonians anymore, it was hurting normal people too. Of course i am supergirl but they didn't know that. At least it meant that she wasn't giving it to anyone else. I heard a knock on the door. "Come in." I said. Lena came in and sat down next to me on the bed. "I'm sorry, Kara, I didn't mean for you to get hit in the crossfire." She said. "You should've known people would get hurt when you made kryptonite." I said. "It saved a lot of people life's too." Lena said. "What about my life, I could've died." I said angry. Literally three times already. The first kryptonite attack, the last one where i lost my powers and now this. Lena's kryptonite could've killed me 3 times already. I know she said she didn't have anything to do with that but they must have stolen it from her somehow. "Do you know what it was like? All alone in the darkness. Those guys hitting me. I thought i was going to die." I said. She started crying. "I'm so sorry." She said. "I only wanted to help people." She said. "Just leave me alone." I said. "Okay." She said. She left the room.

The sun started to rise but i still haven't slept at all. Might as well make breakfast. I put on a sweater and made my way to the kitchen. I take some eggs out of the fridge. Maybe i should make some breakfast for Lena too. It was way too early, she's probably still sleeping. I waited about an hour before i made breakfast. I hope she likes fried eggs. Luckily I didn't burn the kitchen down. I put it on some bread and made my way to Lena's bedroom. I knocked on her door. No response. I knocked again but still no response. She's still sleeping. Should i wake her. I decided to just wake her. I opened her door and made my way into her room. I put the plate on the table in front of her bed. There she was sleeping peacefully on her bed. She looked gorgeous. I almost couldn't bring myself to wake her up. I sat down next to her. "Lena, i made breakfast." I said. I touched her to get some hair out of her face. She groaned. "Kara?" She said. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" She said. "I made you some breakfast." I said. "It's 6am?" She said. She got up and looked at the table. "You made that without burning down the kitchen?" She said. I nodded excitedly. She rolled the table over the bed. "Thanks Kara." She said. She started eating and i followed her example. "I'm sorry i got so angry last night." I said. "It's okay, you have every right to be angry." She said. "No, i shouldn't have said all of that. I know you're just trying to help." I said. "Will you forgive me?" I said. "Of course." She said. She opened her arms, gesturing me to give her a hug. "Get in here." She said. I gave her a hug and laughed. "I will never let anyone hurt you again." Lena said. She gave me a kiss on the forehead. She let go of me and started eating again. "I have to say I'm impressed with your cooking skills, Kara." She said. "Oh stop!" I said. She started laughing. "Why were you up so early? You usually sleep in." She said. "I couldn't sleep. First because it was too dark, just like the cell and it scared me. So i turned on the light but it was too light." I said. "I'll buy you a nightlight." Lena said. She put her arm around me and rubbed my arm. I put my head on her shoulder. "Don't you have to go to work?" I said. "No, i took a day off so i could stay here with you." She said. "I was thinking we could do something fun together today." Lena said. "I would like that a lot." I said. "Okay, well i'll go take a shower and get dressed." She said. She got out of bed. "Okay, i should clean this up." I said and took our plates and went back to the kitchen. After i cleaned the dishes i got dressed.

I was waiting for Lena on the couch. She was putting some make up on. Not that she needed it. "So i was thinking we could go out on a road trip." Lena said. "To where?" I said. "I don't know, let's just drive." She said. I nodded. As long as i got to spend time with Lena. "Okay so are you ready?" She said. "Yeah, lets go." I said. I stood up and followed Lena to the elevator. We took the elevator to the basement where her car was parked. We took a different car then last time. Of course she would have multiple cars. She took her convertible this time. I put on my sunglasses and we left.

We have been driving for 2 hours. "Lena can we stop i have to use to bathroom." I said. "We'll stop at the next one. I need gas anyways." She said. Oh Rao, please let one come soon. It had been 30 minutes before we stopped. I ran too the bathroom. I heard Lena laugh behind me.

When i came back Lena was in the shop. I jumped back in the car. Lena came out with a bag. "I got us some water and soda and of course candy for you." She said. I smiled and took the bag from here. I opened one of the candy bags immediately. Lena took a sip of her water and started driving again.

After 3 more hours of driving we stopped at some forest. I wasn't a big fan of the forrest at all. There were all these insects and other animals. But Lena thought it would be fun. I didn't bring any shoes with me, i was wearing flip flops. Perfect to walk the forrest with. Luckily Lena thought of everything and brought an extra pair of shoes. "I love the forrest." Lena said. "Why?" I said. "It's so peaceful. The only thing you hear is the sound of the wind through the leaves and animals. Unlike the city where it is always noisy." She said. "I don't like the bugs, they scare me. Especially spiders." I said. "Aw, are you scared of spiders, Kara. I'll kill them for you." She said. "Thanks." I laughed.

We reached a lake and decided to rest. Lena had brought a picnic blanket. "How late is it?" I asked Lena. I didn't bring my phone with me. "It's 8pm." She said. "Oh wow, didn't realize it was so late." I said. "Do you want a sandwich?" She said. She bought some at the gas station earlier. I felt my stomach growling. "Yes, thanks." I said.

The sunset started soon after we finished eating. It was getting chilly outside. "Are you cold?" Lena said. I nodded. She took a blanket out of the bag and wrapped the both of us in it. Which forced us to get closer to each other. We watched the sunset together. "When i first got adopted by the Danvers family i watched the sunset every night. Until the stars would come out. It would make me feel less lonely knowing that someone else in the universe was looking at the stars too." I said. She was looking at me. "That's beautiful." She mumbled. I silence fell. We were staring at each other. I saw her looking at my lips. We locked eyes again. I leaned in and crashed our lips together. It was slow and passionate. Lena put her hand on my face. She moved her hand to the back of my neck. Soon i got hungry for more. Things were getting heated when Lena pulled away. I was completely out of breath. We started into each others eyes intensely. Her eyes looked even greener then before. She put her forehead against mine. "I like you a lot, Kara." She said. My heart started beating even faster then before, if that was even possible. "I like you too, a lot, Lena." I said.
