Chapter 16

It had been a week since i had seen Lena. I tried texting her but she ignored most of them. I decided to take Alex's advice and give her some space. Since the incident I haven't been out as supergirl as much. I just couldn't get myself to. I felt like every time i went out i screwed up things for the worst. Alex tried to get me back to the DEO everyday but I didn't come most of the time. Alex said they still haven't identified the man who killed the 3 teenagers. Not that it surprises me these days. All these mysterious attacks on the city and me. They all seem to be untraceable. I don't know who was behind this. Whoever it was it made sure not to leave any tracks. It could be possible they aren't even connected. Since i got shot by kryptonite bullets the number of attacks have increased. Not only that but they seem to get worse every time. As frustrating as it was there was nothing else to do but wait.

I have been calling in sick all week since the incident. I didn't feel like going to work. All the headlines said right now, was how supergirl had failed. Where was supergirl when the hostage was killed in the robbery. I certainly did not want to be assigned to a supergirl story. Aside from that I wasn't really feeling well. I haven't really left my house. Alex brings me dinner every night. I watch netflix most of the day. At night I can't sleep. Their faces were haunting me. Alex tried giving me something to sleep but none of it worked. It wasn't going to take the pain away. My apartment was kind of a mess. There were empty take out boxes everywhere. Empty bottles. Dirty dishes from two days before. Alex had called me out for it. She told me to clean my apartment but I didn't feel like doing anything.

"Kara?" Lena said. I looked to the door. "I heard you called in sick all week so i thought i would pay you a visit." She said. As happy i was too see her, i still felt slightly angry, now she wanted to pay me a visit? I saw her look around in my messy apartment. I felt my face getting red. "Sorry for the mess." I said ashamed. "Kara, love, you should've told me you weren't feeling well. I could've taken care of you." She said. "You only want to speak to me when i'm sick?" I snapped. "I just needed some time." She said. "I know, i'm sorry." I said. Lena took a garbage bag out of the drawer and stared putting the empty boxes and bottles in it. "You don't have to do that. I'll do it later." I said. "You look horrible, you should lay down." She said. I stood up and grabbed the bag out of her hand. "You're so stubborn." She said. "You don't have to clean up after me." I said. "Fine." She said. She sat down at the kitchen table with crossed arms.

Lena had watched me clean my apartment for an entire hour. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror while cleaning. I really did look horrible. I had dark grey bags on under my eyes. If I wouldn't know any better i would say i had a black eye. I sat down across from Lena. "What is going on with you." She asked. "Just a stomach flu or something." I lied. "You're a really bad liar." She said. "I just haven't been sleeping well." I said. She sighted. "You know you can talk to me right?" She said. I nodded. I didn't want to talk to her. Not anymore. How could she possibly understand. I didn't even like me anymore. "Why don't you lay down for a bit?" She said. I wanted to object. "Lay down, Kara." She said demanding. I walked to the bed. Lena tucked me in. "I'll be here when you wake up." She said. She gave me a kiss on the forehead. I fell asleep fast.

"You did this to us." She said. "It was her." Another said. "Why didn't you pick us." She said. Blood so much blood. I woke up to Lena's voice. "Kara. Wake up." Lena said. I was breathing heavily. "Shhh, it's just a bad dream." She said. She was playing with my hair. I started to calm down. "You don't have to be afraid, i'm right here." She said. Lena put her arm around me. She kissed my neck softly. "Go back to sleep." She whispers. I drifted off to sleep, safe in her arms.

I woke up the next morning with Lena still next to me. Her arm was still around me. Our legs and fingers where intertwined. "Good morning, love." Lena said. "Good morning." I whispered. "How are you feeling?" She asked. "Much better now that you're here. I like waking up next to you." I said. "I'm sorry I wasn't here for you." She said. I turned around to face her. "It's okay, you had your own things to worry about." I said. She stared at me. "You said you wanted to talk that night?" She said. "It was nothing important." I said. "Are you sure?" She said. I nodded. I leaned in for a kiss. It was a soft quick kiss. Lena put my hair behind my ears. She looked so beautiful. Her hair was all messy and she wasn't wearing any makeup, but she looked more gorgeous then ever. Lena leaned in for another kiss. This one lasted longer. We shared a passionate kiss. I loved the feeling of her lips on mine. Her lips were always soft and you could taste her sweet cherry balm. I pulled away to catch my breath. I looked straight into her eyes. My stomach was doing crazy flips. "I love you." I said. She stared back quietly for a second. "I love you too." She whispered before her face turned into a big smile. I gave her another kiss. I didn't last long because i was laughing. Instead i put my arms around her and hugged her tightly. I loved her so much.
