After 5 days of storming the weather finally cleared up, and so did Lena's mood. She finally started to smile again. The darkness that was once seen her eyes had vanished. I was waiting for her to come back from work. She was working late almost every night. She said she was working on a new project in the lab. She said she couldn't tell me what it was about yet. After a lot of whining, I convinced her to give me the exclusive. "I'm home honey!!" I heard lena scream from the hall. I heard laughing. She walked into the living room. "I always wanted to say that." She said. I laughed."Hi, love." I said. She leaned in for a quick kiss. "How was work." I said. "Fine, it's gonna take some time before you get your exclusive." Lena said. "Is it harder then you thought?" I said. "Yeah, there are some complications but i'm sure we'll figure it out." Lena said. She poured herself a glass of wine. "Do you want some?" She asked. "Sure." I said. She poured one for me too and handed me the glass. She sat down next to me. "What about you? Any exciting interviews?" Lena said. "No not really. I had to do a piece on that old man who won the lottery, so that's how exciting my day was." I said. I chuckled. "Oh god." Lena said. "Well, i guess it's a good thing after all that drama the past week." Lena said. "What do you mean?" I said. "You know, no one dying. No storms." Lena said. "Oh yeah, obviously." I said. No more mothers dying. Things felt a little awkward between us the past few days. Of course, i hadn't seen her that much. Maybe it was all in my head though. The guilt has been eating me away. "What are you thinking about?" Lena cut in. "Nothing, i just miss you." I said. "I'm sorry. What if i took tomorrow night off, and take you out for our date?" Lena said. "You don't have to. I'm sure your work is more important." I said. She grabbed my wine glass out of my hands and put in on the table. She put her finger under my chin and made me look up into her eyes. "You're important to me too." Lena whispered before she kissed me. "I heard about this band playing tomorrow night? Maybe we could check that out?" Lena said. "Yeah, that would be great." I said. "Yes, we can get potstickers after." Lena said annoyed. i laughed. "You know me so well." I said.

I was waiting for Lena in the park. I was sitting on a bench under a tree. I had bought her a single gardenia flower. The man at the flower store had said it meant hope, purity and love. He tried to make me buy an entire bouquet of flowers but i thought one flower with meaning was perfect. We were supposed to meet here 5 minutes ago. She said we would have a small picknick before we went to the concert tonight. She's probably just running a little late. But 5 minutes turned to 30 minutes, and 30  minutes turned to an hour. I decided to call her to ask where she was. I was starting to worry, what if something happened on the way here? I called Lena's phone number. The first time no one picked up. Cold sweat started form on my face. I rang again almost in panic already. "Hello, it's Jess." The woman on the other side said. "Hey, it's Kara. Is Lena around?" I said. "She's working in her lab. She said she was going to work late, and not to disturb her." Jess said. "Oh okay." I said. "Kara, can i--" I heard her say before i hang up. She promised we would hang out together. We talked about it this morning? How could she forget. I threw the flower on the ground angry. I took of my glasses and flew away angry.

After flying for a few hours, i found myself in front of Alex's apartment. I knocked on the door. "Kara? It's 2am, are you okay?" Alex said. She let me in. "Lena forgot about our date." I said. she sighted. "Maybe something came up at work." Alex said. "She promised she would take the night off for me." I said. "Well, maybe wait until you hear her side of the story? Have you talked to her yet." Alex said. "No, she's not home yet. I tried calling her but her assistant picked up the phone. She said Lena didn't want to be disturbed tonight." I said. "I'm sure she has a good reason, Kara. She wouldn't just bail on you like that." Alex said. Maybe she's right, maybe something came up. "She could've called." I said. She nodded. I sighted. "Sorry to barge in like this." I said. "It's okay, you know i'm always here for you." Alex said. I gave her a hug. "Thank you, Alex." I said. "Now, why don't you go home and get some sleep." She said. I nodded. "Do you want to come over tomorrow? I miss spending time with you." I said. "Sure, see you tomorrow." Alex said. "Goodnight, Alex." I said before flying out of her window. I heard her saying goodnight.

When i got to our apartment, it was still dark inside. Lena still wasn't home. This is really late even for Lena. I checked my phone to see if she had left me any more messages. So late? And still no texts? Lena always texts me if she's late. I decided i was going to look for her. I'm going to drag her home if i have to. Working till 2am was ridiculous, even for Lena. I flew to an ally near L-Corp. I changed to my normal clothes. I crossed the street. The building was closed of course. I couldn't get in using the head entrance. I looked for open windows. I saw one on the 6th floor. I looked around to see if anyone could see me. I flew to the window and got in. I was in someone's office. I used my x-ray vision to see where she was. I saw her on the 13th floor. There was a lot of security here. I opened the door to the hall. I had to get to the stairwell. There were 4 security guards on this level. I sneaked through the hallways. Thank Rao for my super hearing. I almost made it to the stairwell when two guards were walking in the hall. I quickly hid in some suply room. I waited until they were gone. I opened the door and used my superspeed. I was now in the stairwell. 7 levels up, that's not too bad. I ran upstairs, careful not to make too much noise. There wasn't any security on this level. This should be easy. I opened the door to the 13th floor when a loud alarm went off. I heard security running upstairs. I ran towards the room where Lena was at. I was almost there, i could see her on the other side of the window, when i felt the taser hit me. I fell to the ground. "Oh my god! Kara!" Lena said. "She broke in, Ma'am" The security guard said. "She's with me. It's okay, let her go." Lena said. The security guard moved away so i got room again to stand up. Lena helped me up. "Babe, how did get in here. Are you alright?" Lena said. "I'm fine, Someone left their window open." I said. "You sneaked all the way up here?" Lena said. I nodded. "I'm impressed. We're going to have to make some serious changes in security." Lena said. It wouldn't have been so easy without super powers, but she didn't know that. Even with superpowers, that taser kicked my ass. Remind me not to get tasered again. "What are you doing here?" Lena said. "You bailed on me." I said angry. "What do you--" Lena said. "Oh, i'm so sorry i totally forgot. I had a big break through today. I was just so excited testing it and--" Lena said before i cut her off. "You could've called! Make your assistant call me?! I waited for you for an entire hour and bought you stupid flowers. But apparently i'm not as important to you as i thought." I said. "I'm sorry, Kara. Let me make it up to you. Let's just go home right now, and i could take tomorrow off." Lena said. "No! Don't even bother coming home anymore. Just sleep here. I don't care." I said. I walked away. "Kara.." Lena said. I Ignored her. I took the elevator back down and left the building.
