I don't know my name

I don't play by the rules of the game

Harry hadn't obeyed rules from the time he became friends with Ron, and while it was awful getting in trouble, it could be quite thrilling.

So you say

Everyone seemed to have a different opinion about him.

I'm just trying, just trying

It was hard, at first, to accept that fact.

I went from bland and popular

God did Harry hate that. Always being looked at in the halls.

to joining the marching band.

Not literally -- it was a metaphor, perhaps? What he meant was that he withdrew from the public eye after graduating. He didn't conform to what everyone thought he should be doing.

I made the closest friends

I'll ever have in my lifetime.

That was 100% true. His friends -- specifically Hermione and Ron -- were his family.

I am lost, trying to get found

In an ocean of people

It was like ater he'd defeated Voldemort, he wasn't sure what his purpose was. His whole life had been leading up to the task, he didn't know who he was.

Please don't ask me any questions

There won't be a valid answer

He hated the older adults -- specifically Molly or Percy -- asking what he was going to do next. Why did he have to have a plan? Those had never worked before. Granted, that was taking down a Dark Lord...

I'll just say

I am lost, trying to get found

In an ocean of people

Please don't ask me any questions

There won't be a valid answer

That annoyed Percy. He usually huffed, "Well you have to have a plan, Harry! What are you going to do with your life?"

Ron or Charlie would then slap his head and tell Harry, "Don't listen to him."

I now know my name!

I don't play by the rules of the game

So you say, I'm not trying

But I'm trying, to find my way

Harry was on his way to knowing who he was, but until then he could rely on his family for help. As Molly said, "You're an honorary Weasley, Harry. You're welcome here."
