Draco made to kiss Howie again, but he pulled back. "Draco, no."

Draco let his hands fall from Howie's red curls to his shoulders. "Why? You seemed pretty enthusiastic a minute ago."

He smirked, and Howie nearly kissed him again. Nearly.

"I love you, so damn much."

Draco leaned forward and kissed him, hands sliding into his hair again.

Howie sighed into it. "Draco, wait."

Draco pouted as Howie again pushed his chest.

"Your pout is very cute, but let me say this. Please."

Draco nodded, crossing his arms.

"But we both know we can't be together."

Draco opened his mouth, then closed it.

Howie tried to explain himself, but didn't sound very confident. "Harry, he's always going to be first, you know that."

"Why does he come first, but you don't? What about what you want, Howie?"

Howie sighed. "He cares, Draco. He's just worried for me. It's bad enough I'm a Potter in Slytherin..."

"Oh come on, we aren't that bad."

"Harry doesn't care about that. But everyone else does. And besides, you bully him and his friends, you're not exactly on his good list."

Draco was pouting again. "Why does that matter to you?"

"It's not just that. You and I...we're not on the same side."

Draco sighed heavily. They'd had this discussion too many times. "Howie, you know—"

"I know you won't have a choice in the mark, or joining. I also know that Voldemort is a bastard who deserves to die."

Draco pressed his lips together, but didn't reply.

"People are already picking sides, and you know I'm with Harry. He's the only family I've got."

"No one has to know. We're only fifteen, Howie. Nothing will happen for awhile."

"Things are already happening, Draco! I'm a slytherin, I know how to save myself and that's by fighting with my brother."

"So you don't want this?"

"Of course I do, I love you. But Draco, this won't work very long. Do you know what would happen if Umbridge saw us? If anyone knew?"

"We can deal with it."

Howie kissed him hard on the mouth, pulling away quickly. Their bodies stayed pressed together as he sighed, "I love you, Draco. Which is why this is so hard."

Howie stepped back, opening the broom closet door. "Goodbye."

Draco waited until he was gone to reply, "Goodbye, Howie Potter."
