God did Sirius hate balls like this. The only person that might hate them more was Harry, the poor kid. Where was he, anyway?

"Hey there, Padfoot," Remus whispered, sneaking up behind him.

  "Hi, Moony. Where's Harry?"

They scanned the room together, Remus spotting it just a second after Sirius.

  "Oh Merlin. Sirius, no."

Sirius stared at them.

His godson dancing with Neville Longbottom.

"Sirius, he's twenty one," Remus reminded, his voice rising in panic.

  "They're dancing."

"Yes, that's typically what one does at a ball. Well, some people." At this, he glared at Sirius.

"Is he touching Harry's--?" Sirius yelled, "A little low, don't you think, Neville!!"

"Sirius!" Remus hissed as both Harry and Neville blushed, Neville's hand moving up onto Harry's back.

The night went on like this.

When Neville and Harry got 'too close' for Sirius' liking, he would yell, "Now, now, arm's length apart!"

Or, he would randomly yell, "Oi, that's my godson you're getting handsy with!"

At the end of the night, as they were leaving, Neville kissed Harry's cheek. This, Sirius couldn't allow -- obviously.

"Are you trying to get my godson pregnant?!"

Harry stared, before looking at Remus in confusion.

He only shrugged. "I've stopped trying to understand what goes on in his head, sorry, Harry."

As Sirius spoke to Neville -- rather, spoke at Neville -- about how far away Neville should be, Remus told Harry, "He'll probably show up at your flat tonight to make sure you're not pregnant. Prepare yourself. Maybe shut off the Floo."

Harry nodded, looking fearful. "Right, thanks."
