As you promised you would, you called Jeremy after work on Tuesday. You both agreed to meet at a local art museum that was recently remodeled.

"I'm not very creative," Jeremy apologized.

It was a hot day, but it didn't feel like it with the steady breeze. Clouds relaxedly floated across the blue sky and the grass was green and watered. Gaggles of people ventured up a staircase leading the way to the museum and admired statues on the grounds.

You spotted Jeremy waiting by some sort of modern sculpture that hadn't been too crowded. It looked like a bunch of worms to you, but Jeremy obviously saw something more. You made a light jog over to him and tapped him on the shoulder, interrupting his inspection of the art piece. It wasn't as if he minded, however. He greeted you with a large smile.

A wide and intimidating set of stairs led up to the building itself. On either side of the double doors, polished marble columns shone in the sunlight, contrasting with the numerous modern-looking windows scattered strategically across the building.

Jeremy trailed behind you with his limp as you made your way up the steps. You slowed down, staring in awe at the structure towering over you. You had to admit, it wasn't very wide, but it was impressive. You hadn't realized you stopped in your tracks until Jeremy found himself beside you and discreetly grabbed your hand, pulling you up further.

You glanced over to him, mildly surprised. You didn't think he would want to show any public displays of affection towards you. Jeremy averted his gaze, color filling his face under your stare. He looked at something off to the side that you couldn't see, and tugged at the turtleneck on his sweater. You grinned amusedly. It was endearing, he blushed easily.

Once inside the building, after having pushed through multiple crowds of people, it didn't surprise you to see it was just as impressive as the outside. The refurbished main lobby glowed with natural light, not a single speck of dust in sight.

"Nice air conditioning in here," Jeremy mumbled at the ground. His eyes traveled elsewhere.

A pamphlet/information booth stood in the center of the floor, elevators and stairs were to the left, and the gift shop was to the right.

Jeremy and you rode in one of the fancy looking elevators to the second floor, squashed in with some tour group. After a few uncomfortable seconds, you gratefully stepped off and the tour group left to congregate someplace else.

You asked Jeremy where he wanted to go first. He magically produced a map out of a pocket somewhere and shared it with you, putting his head close to yours.

He jabbed at a square on the map. "I haven't really planned any route out, but I kind of wanted to see some mosaics, which aren't too far away."

You looked at the map. Jeremy was right, a section with mosaics was just down the hall. Jeremy folded the map and tucked it away, following you.

A few paintings were spaced out on the walls, cased in glass. Guards stood at every corner, some with purpose, some who looked like they had far better things to do, and some who looked like they were longing for a chair to rest their feet. You felt bad for them. It was probably a boring job. Though also an easy one, so long as nobody tried to pull some sort of heist. Which, not many people did.

Jeremy basically took over, deciding where to go. You didn't mind very much, putting in your two cents occasionally. You were content to follow Jeremy around. He looked like he was having fun. Staring at immobile paintings.

Your travels ended on the third floor, which was to be expected, considering there were no other floors to travel to. You took a (thankfully empty) elevator back down and dragged Jeremy in to the gift shop. You didn't plan on buying anything, but it was cool to browse the T-shirts and shot glasses. Jeremy liked the plushies because they were soft. They didn't have much to do with art, though.

After leaving, Jeremy and you hopped across the street to grab a bite to eat in to the restaurant you saw earlier, and to escape the pounding heat. It was nice, but crowded, because of so many other people who had the same idea.

After having been seated and placed your orders, you sat in calm silence with Jeremy, focusing on the buzz of conversation in the background. Or maybe it was just the fly Jeremy was swatting ferociously at. He finally managed to ward the dumb thing off just as the waiter delivered your drinks.

Once the man left, you remembered what Jeremy told you about his mom back in the hospital. You fiddled with your fork and asked if she was doing okay.

Jeremy's mood visibly dropped. "My mom? Um... she's been doing... fine. She's, uh, been better, but..." he shrugged half-heartedly. "Not much I can do." He stared at his hands in front of him and grabbed the straw in his glass to drink the lemonade.

You felt bad. You hadn't meant to remind him of the state his mother was in.

"I'm optimistic though," he bounced back. "She won't get worse."

You took a sip from your own drink.

Jeremy changed the topic. "So, um, what exactly is y-- your romantic situation right now? You seem to be... uh... dating around."

You shrugged. "Dating around" was a good way to put it. You kind of had the hots for multiple people, you wanted to find out who was right for you. Who to go further with.

Jeremy pressed his lips thin. "Y-yeah, that makes sense." He made eye contact with you and smiled a little. "And right now you're trying to see if I'm right for you, huh?" He cocked his head to one side.

You shrugged again. Something like that. You met his eyes.

"Yeah... makes sense..." he repeated. He glanced around, and then he leaned over the table, supporting himself with his elbows. He chewed on his cheek, brows furrowed. "Can I kiss you?" His eyes bored between your two ones.

Shrugging once more, you drifted forward to meet him.

His line of sight darted around for a moment, before focusing on your eyes. And then he made his move.

Except he veered right.

His lips met the corner of yours. It was nothing special, not at all. A peck on the corner of your mouth. And then he pulled away, and hovered there for a moment.

He was close. You could feel his breath on your skin. It smelt a little like lemons.

(A/N: Remember when I said I wanted to get consistent with my updates? Haha... yikes. anyway, I'm unsure if I'll be able update anytime soon, because I might be busy this month. I'll try to write parts of chapters in my free time.)
